After a week the dealership called back and we made a deal. On order already is OEM Black sill protectors, OEM black lug nuts, Tundra letters for tailgate, bright white LEDs for inside cab and license plate, TRD Rear Sway Bar, and AJT shifter area and cup holder ring in black with black hardware.

Already painted tow hoops grey, installed OEM bed rails, black cap on valve stems, and OEM grab handle on drivers side. Received bid for new stereo equipment also. Truck came with nice mats front and I kept my back because it covered the space under the back seats.

As part of the deal I will be taking truck back when they order the parts for the TRD Cold Air Intake, Dual Cat Back Exhaust with Black Tips, OEM AC and Heat parts for front seats, then they will take to an outfit they use to install Black Katkinz leather seats front and back, and change out the headlights to the ones that I had on the 19 Sport, those were black out LEDs. Dealer will give me something to drive for a couple days while they do their work.

The wife has told me that will be enough for awhile and we will discuss stereo as it is double what I had in the Sport so the price is up there but this time from a local guy that comes to the house and has done lots of Toyota trucks and he is ready to do it within a week???:). Pictures to follow as things start coming together.

Just arrived back home from the paint protection place. Wow!! Everything has gone up!!! I had him do the pieces behind all four door handles and the door edges. Also had him do the space under each headlight. I painted the valve stems black yesterday too.

put on the door sill protectors, and the Grey letters on tailgate.

Ordered rear TRD Sway Bar but they are on backorder. Can not believe how much prices have gone up in the last two years. Also paid for a new stereo system but one piece is missing, and that is supposed to be here in a week or so. After having a nice system in the Sport, listening to this crap in the new truck is not fun!!!

9BCE8A9B-AE26-450B-95E0-D13119DE60BF.jpg Put on the TRD Rear Sway bar, I painted it Grey. :). Ordered LED interior lights. I tried to give the local guy a shot for the stereo but the more I asked the more I did not want him in my truck. I saw a Tacoma he did and he put in a woofer in a plastic box with the amp built in and the whole system did not sound right to me!! Paid for a system on Monday and got a call on Tuesday morning saying they found the amp for the speakers so I am first up on Friday morning in Helotes Texas so the boys at Taco Tunes can do their stuff. I’ll drive over early Friday morning 4 hours and some minutes then drive home rocking all the way!!!!:) black lug nuts came in but they sent the wrong set. They sent over ones for a Tacoma so I gave them to my salesman buddy that has one. Sparks Parts sending a pack of the right ones, if they are correct I will order three more packs of black ones. AJT stuff is on the way and hopefully next week truck goes in the shop for two days!!!:)

The new name for the truck will be known as Black BETTY!!!!!:)

C43D45FF-2537-4DB2-8C80-B94AF13694CB.jpg Thanks to AJT Design around the shifter area it looks all good now ( in my opinion:)). After three or four trucks I figured it out. Made a pilot hole with a very pointy small nail then started with tiny drill bits and worked my way up. When I thought it was good I broke the OEM piece and pried on each weld spot alone. Looky No Holes!!!! YAY!!!!:)

Tundras.com welcomes you.. I just went from a 2017 MGM to Cement 2021. Not quite a fan of the new Tundras; maybe in 3 years.

Congrats on the new truck! Curious with the heat/air seat add, katskinz leather, and some of the other dealer items, was it that much better of a deal they made versus starting with a Platinum trim level that has those features?

also, before your upgrade journey gets halted, might add in the power locking tailgate if your ‘21 didn’t come with that feature already—it’s relatively inexpensive and a Toyota part

TRD Cold Air Intake and TRD Dual Exhaust was added today. They did not want to spend the money to get an OEM harness for 3K plus so now we are in renegotiations???? Will post what ever the conclusion. Did not want them tearing all the premade and factory harness out and replacing it!. 1A39308A-7DA1-4E7E-860E-9C031A717722.jpg

So,,,,,,, dealer called and went with my suggestion and we can all be happy and still remain friends. They are going to replace my Surround and the Bulge from chrome to painted to match the truck while reusing my emblem/radar thingy,,, and free labor on two other projects to be named later. When I go in to get the leather with the cold and hot front seats they will do the surround. Good Trade!!!!:)

LOL!!!:) no leather steering wheel. As far as price I do not know that either because it was all thrown in as part of the deal trading my 19 Sport. My buddy was complaining today about the price of the heat and cool part and the labor plus the service dept wanting 20% of the total bill for that because it is done off site and their reasoning on that is the warranty,, if something happens then it falls back on the service dept. leather and the front back to Black then all done.

Monday morning (15th) I get to drop the truck off to get the Katzkin put in along with the heat and cold front seats after a bunch of times getting pushed back because of parts and shipping thingys?? I hope it doesn’t get delayed again. The parts are supposed to be there as of Thursday last. Want so bad to get this done and done correctly so I can be done with the dealer. I do like the part though they use a Katzkin guy instead of OEM leather!!:) fingers crossed!!!!!

Wellll!!!! WTH!!! I even told the upholstery place to take extra good care of the truck as I have already sank a bunch of money into it. The upholstery guy said oh ya he could see it they would be extra careful!!! Famous last words!!!

Brought the truck back oh let me back up a second. I looked on one of the apps I have to check to see where my truck was and it was back at the dealer. I called my buddy and he told me it just arrived and they were at the body shop!! Unfricken believable!!!! Left the truck to have leather put in and I get the truck back with leather and wrecked!! Upholstery place guy still has not called!! Seems someone backed into the truck after it was backed out and the owner of the shop went inside and came back out and noticed it was hit!!!

They hit the passenger side corner in the back of the cab and that corner of the bed!! The body shop manager says minimum two weeks maybe more. Have to take off the bed to do it correctly and make it perfect then I do not know how they will get to the corner of the cab!!!

Seems the GM got word and told the body shop that he wants the best crew on there ASAP and he is going to check on them. I told my buddy there do not bother calling me until it is perfect because I will not accept anything less!!!

I have a brand new truck for four weeks and this chump has it for three days and brings it back all messed up!!! It doesn’t look that bad but it is bad enough to me and it is just in a bad place.. I really do not want the truck now but I can not do anything about it. Not liking the idea they have to take off the bed neither!!?? So they give me a new Highlander with four miles on it. It has been five hours now and no call from the idiot that wrecked my truck!!!! The whole thing just P\:|:£ me off!!!!!DC79462D-3ABC-4351-B759-1CB3CCA99FD6.jpg

The leather does look good and I got my keys to make sure the fans work and make sure my stereo still rocks!!! And nothing wrong in the engine room!!

Received a call out of the blue and it was from the body shop. He assured me that where the dents are they come out nicely and it should be a quick process. They are hoping to get me my truck but the end of this week. Said the truck will look very nice when they are done, I feel a bit better now and it gives me some peace-of-mind for the week ahead!!:)

Went back to being totally p;&&:; again. Now the guys insurance is telling the shop to replace the whole door, the step. And replace the whole side of the bed. The body shop guy is going to suggest just pay to replace the bed. Insurance wants to replace with new being it is a new truck and all the money I have in it already. We shall see what happens. If it gets up there in price I am going to suggest they just total it and see what they say!! Diminished value is going to hurt him also!!?? Do not have any idea on time now because of the ordering of parts.

Wellll,,, I asked the shop manager what he would do because I was not excited about them cutting a side of the bed off then getting off all the spot welds then welding a new side on. The door has bolts but I asked the shop manager and he told me that since they have the best guy in the collision center starting on the truck he would just fix the dents. He said they really aren’t that bad and told me the truck will turn out nicely. They are fixing it now and the wait continues.

Ordered the front bumper end caps painted to match and the black LED fog lights. The Sport Headlights in Black are the only thing left on the exterior of the truck. The above order was made this weekend so I could get in on free shipping.

The truck is fixed and whole again!! The Katzkin is amazing. Makes the seats feel totally different. Going to take a couple days and clean it, add plates and sticker then get to works as parts come in. Pictures will follow of the leather,, oh ya seat jackers added to the list and bed step should up!!!:)

Katzkin is in place with fans and Heat strip. One more thing off the list. It does firm up the seats and I am going to get a set of seat jackers too. Black all Black with Black stitches.

Christmas present a tad early but when I bought mine I bought the daughter one. I practiced on mine. It really is so much easier to cut the skeleton frame piece in there. Made a couple cuts and left the bottom piece in there for support. Getting to the two bolts on the frame is a pain but doable. Didn’t even get any metal pieces in my eyes!! (Wore glasses). So wear glasses when you are under there cutting, paint the cut pieces, put it together and you have a Bed Step!!!! One more off the list!!:)C0D9A80B-70BE-456B-842A-4F26740BD1B3.jpg
