    Got to look at a new Bronco Sport parked in a lot today. I know the original Bronco wasn't very big, but this one was parked next to a Nissan Rogue and Dodge Nitro. Seemed a little tiny...Not that I'd buy one, but wasn't too impressed, especially with all the hype behind the re release.

    I had a old bronco. 77 the last year they made that body style. It was a blast and typical Ford. Always an issue. The new sports aren’t that special. The Bronco 2 door version looks good but doesn’t get the 6 cylinder.

    LED headlamps/fogs; interior footlamps.
    You were looking at the introductory version, it is in the mid-size category.

    The real hype is in the next 2 versions, much larger and far more capable offroad.

    Guess I was expecting it to be a larger SUV

    It's going to be a good and capable suv. It's also going to have a huge aftermarket following and cost a lot of money. I like it

    If it wasn’t for Bronco Sport written on the tailgate, I wouldn’t have looked twice at it.

    The only Broncos that are out right now are the small ones, basically a car. Think Bronco II. The "real" Broncos aren't out yet. They are aimed at the Jeep market. I think they will put a decent sized dent in Jeep sales.

    I bought a new 1976 Bronco with the 302 V8. Hauled ass after I threw on some Hooker headers, Cherry Bombs with cut outs, cut out rear fender wells, Jackman rims with oversize Armstrong Tru Trac flotation tires. Kicked ass actually.....[/QUOTE]

    I never liked the Bronco II. Just as crappy as the early Blazers. Light on the rear. Winched out a lot of both back in the day.

    It's cozy.
    By comparison:
    2021 4Runner: 190" OAL; 110" WB
    2021 Bronco Sport: 172" OAL; 105" WB

    The 2021 Bronco lineup is apparently offered in three engine choices:
    * 2.3L 4-cylinder (270 hp, 310 lb-ft), 10-sp tranny...with an optional 7-speed manual transmission.
    * 2.7L 6-cylinder twin turbo (310 hp, 400 lb-ft), 10-sp tranny

    If I didn't need a truck, the new Bronco would be in my sights. Ford did their homework...

    That four cylinder with the manual is going to make a great first used car in eight years for someone’s kids. If they last.

    I would really dig the manual in the 6 cylinder

    I bought a new 76 Bronk with the 302. Quite worthy. Not big on Fords now but I'd bet even that 4 cylinder with manual tranny will be around for quite some time. Manual tranny any day over an auto. I do miss my manual tranny that was in my 09 Taco. Jeeps are over priced blah blah crap now. I built up a 57 CJ5 JP back in high school. 1971. Auto shop/metal shop all four years. Stripped it down to the frame. Rebuild>283 out of a Vette, Muncie 4 speed manual tranny, modified Xfr case, re-geared diffs, beefed up axles, Jackman rims, Armstrong Tru Trac tires. Bad ass actually. I was 16. 49 years ago.......I like this new set of 7 Bronco "trims" to choose from.

    The 4Runner is too big. I'd prefer something the size of a Suzuki Jimny for off roading.

    Great...37's to cross a 18" deep creek. I'm impressed

    Well if it was too deep 37’s would float the Samurai like a pontoon boat and then you just run on the tire like a log roll to get to shore.

    My brother had a 1994 with the 3 speed auto on the tiny stock tires and it would barely get up to highway speed. I can't imagine it on 37s.

    I was next to one the other day and my first thought was “wow smaller than I excepted”. I didn’t think it was going to be as big as the 4Runner but it wasn’t as boxy or high off the ground as I thought it was going to be.

    There are actually 7 versions based upon two wheel bases, 35" tires stock, with a Bronco pickup coming out which won't be overpriced like the JP Gladiator. The new Gladiator doesn't suck but way too expensive.

    That’s interesting...I thought what I saw was “The Bronco”. Maybe they did a better job with the other versions. What I saw looked like a skinner RAV4. I know too many people that had severe problems with Jeep’s but I know two that have very high mileage with zero issues. Ford is the only domestic I would think about buying...

    Did you test drive it? If not not, how could you know whether "they" did a better job with the "other" versions. Just curious:thumbsup:

    No sir didn’t drive it... I did say maybe...

    *EDIT*
    FYI my comment “That’s interesting” was not meant to be sarcasm but more of “oh I didn’t know that”
