New brakes for 35” tires.

    I’ve always ran OEM brakes and I’m looking to upgrade for my 35” tires.

    Option 1: TRD or better pads and existing OEM rotors.

    Option 2: Power Stop Z36 kit

    Option 3: StopTech Truck and SUV pads with drilled Cryo rotors.

    What do you all think? Did I miss any options? I almost jumped the gun and ordered #3 but thought I would ask those that have used the above first.

    Just out of curiosity, why are you wanting to upgrade all of that and not just the pads?

    My PowerStops were junk. I went with the recommendation of StopTech Sport slotted with PosiQuiet pads. I did the cryo treated for the front. @eccracer104 will hook you up with a great price. :thumbsup:

    I'll second the Power Stops being junk. My buddy and I put the full towing spec set on his '15 tundra after the stocks wore down. He tows daily, 5-6 days a week for work, and the power stops lasted less than stock brakes. He claimed no noticeable difference in stopping when they were good either. We went back with parts store premium pads and rotors.

    Thought about just the pads as well. I’ve always used OEM so I’m not sure what would be an actual upgrade. I really don’t need to upgrade the rotors. Just want a little more stopping power for the larger tires. I am reading positive things about the Hawk pads and changing just the pads is actually my first option.

    I always thought the factory brakes were
    just fine and an upgrade isn’t really needed...
    I got 120k (kilometres) out of mine.
    The pads and rotors at the dealer are actually cheaper, if not the same price, than the equivalent Napa or auto value replacements.
