Think I've said it before, but the quality of sound i get from just the Phoenix Tesla head unit is more than what expected from a $50,000 truck. Plus you have 30 days to decide.

Even so. $220 for an amp, plus an hours work would be a huge breakthrough for us JBL guys. As I said earlier I couldn't find a way to upgrade my system for under 700, and that was keeping the factory speakers.

This amp may not be the same one mentioned by the OP. I just have a problem on how to confuse Harmon Kardon with Cadence Acoustics...

I agree. Sounds like a great deal. Just a little confusing until proven otherwise.

Please do not take any offence, but I have had many conversations with James at tech12, who has over 20 years experiance in car audio, about the JBL system and I am local to taco tunes. Rob at TT spent months and month of r&d time to try and find a way remove the factory amp while keeping the stock JBL head unit and providing excellent sound. To my knowledge, neither one has been successful since the JBL system was first introduced in the tundra 6 or 7 years ago. Like everyone else that has the JBL system, I spent a ton on money and time to make the truck sound great. Like everyone else stated, additional information would be great.

Maybe a different version as in somewhat better? The reviews for the 07 JBL system were not very kind.

My only question is the Cadence Acoustics Chicago 1200 Watts PEAK Class AB 4-Channel Amplifier
Looks like a really big amp to put under the seat with the factor amp also ( unless the picture just makes it look big)

I didn’t have JBL. All I know is when I was shopping for my system, at all three places I spoke to, they’re first question was “Does your truck have the JBL system?” When I said no, each one of them said “Good. That makes this a lot easier and saves you a ton of money.”

I’m not sure what the issue with the JBL is. My wife has it in her Sequoia, and it doesn’t sound very good. I’d always chalked that up to it being such a large space inside.

My is the JBL system and it doesn’t sound that bad once I got it all set the way I wanted it. Now with a little more amp can’t hurt any just help a bit. My is a 2015 Tundra 1794, I haven’t looked to see it there is a sub woofer behind the rear seats.

JBL makes decent stuff. Actually JBL, Infinity, Harmon Kardon all fall under Harmon. Used to go onsite and calibrate their test equipment for several years at Balboa Blvd facility. Watched them op verify Infinity stadium monitors a few times. They'd blow your doors off..

I wonder if @tacorob or @BOOMHAUER@TECH12VOLTS can lay some knowledge down on us.

I read that the signal going from the JBL HU to the amp is a flat signal. Its processed at the JBL amp and sent out. You could take the signal before the amp and hook it into your amp using the speaker level inputs, and thats what it sounds like the OP did. This is unsubstantiated knowledge, so take it for what it is.

And there is nothing special about the OP's amp....any amp with a speaker level inputs (a LOT of them have this) can be used like this.
