Damn! I’ve been running Toyota for well over 20 years and I have never had a serious issue. A heater blower motor in my 2010 Tacoma was making noise and replaced. That’s it.
You and your wife will be very happy in your Toyota’s.

Buddy just got one about 2 months ago and has been in the dodge dealership twice already. Head unit failed and his tailgate somehow moved and as he closed it he scraped the paint off the tailgate edge and truck bed. Good looking truck and some great tech as well as a great rear camera picture. But I would never own a truck that utilizes cylinder deactivation. I would keep the Tundra.

    TEXAS!
    ^^^^^ this ^^^^^

does it have a radio? check (although this is debatable as i have the jbl 'premium')

    does it have a/c? check

    my check boxes are checked.

    ^^^^^ this ^^^^^

i will GLADLY "pay more at the pump" in return for reliability.

ED motor is made by an Italian FCA subsidiary called VM Motori. I love my Ducati, but let’s just say that “Made In Italy” doesn’t exactly scream “high quality”. Another damning way to look at this, and from the same company no less:

80% uptime and a failed rear diff in 14 months of ownership...#pathetic

For powertrain choices in the Ram I never really hear or see many problems with the Hemi engine. Most the problems are with electric gremlins. My Hemi in the Ram before this Tundra was pretty much Flawless for the most part for the 60k miles I had it. I had a couple electrical gremlins that I dealt with thankfully they weren't too much of a hassle. EDIT: My Ram also had a couple of small paint defects but I didn't want to have them repaint a couple parts of my truck for little circle like paint defects so I kept the factory finish since I was the only one that really noticed them.

I’m not sure my beaming sarcasm made it through the clouds here.

That was my point. Italian reliability leaves a lot to be desired.

Interestingly I always wanted a Ducati but I went with the Honda RC-51 instead because I didn’t want to deal with the “joy” of Italian vehicle ownership.

Ducati was picked up by Audi a few years ago so maybe they have improved?

Fiat Chrysler is now merging with PSA. Can you imagine a Chrysler-Fiat-Puegeot-Citroen of which DongFeng of china holds as much stock as the French government (nearly 14% of PSA) This is Simply terrifying for quality control and reliability.

Apologies for any confusion: my intent was to agree with you.

Same friend limped his ED in this morning at 30mph all the way to work. Check engine light on again. Did I mention this truck left them high and dry their entire vacation while visiting Texas? Garbage vehicles...
