That's actually something I was going to post... it seems that fox has started distributing them with the Tacoma parts now from what I can tell. Ill post a picture in a little after I finish this whiskey.

Funny that trail is about 12 miles from my house.
I was going to do it last year in early June with my 1998 4Runner but part way up there were 3 trees down with minimum 1.5 foot diameter (no saw or winch) and a snow bank that was 4 feet deep and soft. So I turned around and didn't get a chance to try again.
I'd like to try again this year with my tundra, but there are some tight sections and narrow trail with severe consequences off the side.

Does look like they changed the lower mount. Its about time. I need to email them before I forget, my banjos are leaking and its probably from getting smacked around.

Also the changed the reservoirs to black?!?!?!

Okay guys so far so good with the truck, with that being said I am quite stupid... Forgot to tell the shop to adjust the coilover height so the front end is basically still at stock height. I am also rubbing like crazy so I will need to cut the pinch welds before I can make a quarter turn on the wheel lol.

I hammered in my pinch welds with a little 3lb shirt handle sledge. Worked really well with my 285’s. I should actually go higher with my lift. I wouldn’t cut just beat it in a bit.

I'm trying to devise a plan to get my coilovers set to a taller height, but I'm 19 and mostly out of money now. I barely have 1 inch of space between the tires and the pinchweld so I'm pretty certain I will need to cut that out. Has anyone done this before and could recommend a proper way to do it as to not cause and dramatic issues with the chassis?

Don't cut the pinch weld. Bend it over with a hammer.

Well I will give that a shot and hope that'll buy me enough time to get those coilovers set to the proper height thank you.

Cut lines into them so it looks like a pocket comb and fold them back with a hammer. Wish I would have done that vs just cutting them away hahahahaha

Adjusting the coilovers is easy, you need a spanner wrench or a punch tool of the correct size. Not sure of that size but I am sure someone can chime in. Not sure which specific coilovers you went with but you can only go so high without new UCAs. You will also need an alignment afterwards. I cut the pinchweld and had a buddy weld the remaining material. Also had to cut the front "bumper" a bit to prevent rubbing.

Hit it until it is about flat against the body. Smack it inward.

What tires did you go with? What size?

Yup, you've got to crank those things up a bit. You're working with no lift right now and those tires are some tall boys.

If you want to go the conservative route get a small sledge hammer. Jack up your truck and put the front end on jack stands. Take a tire off and beat this thing inward so that it folds along the red line. It should get pretty close to flat.
    PicsArt_05-26-10.37.17.jpg

If you need to, a move that helps is to drill a hole roughly where the circle is and make a small incision where the yellow lines are. That will give relief and shouldn't allow tearing. Then beat the corner in and it will go absolutely flat against the body.
    PicsArt_05-26-10.38.45.jpg

Your truck looks killer with that wheel and tire combo.

Another thing to consider, I rubbed a little on the front part of the bumper flare. I cut along the inside with a dremel and all clear now. You can't see it unless you're looking in the wheel well.

It is behind the liner. If you pop the plastic clips and pull the liner aside you'll see what is posted above.

Thank you guys I'm gonna go run around like a madman and try to get tools as cheap as possible now. Should be back in a couple of hours before I start.
As far as adjusting the coilovrs could I get away with having them mounted still or will I need to completely remove them? Thank you all for the help it means alot!

Leave them mounted. You'll need the correct spanner, sometimes they come with coilovers but I think Fox does not provide one.

This is how I have done mine, if anybody has a different method feel free.

Look at the adjustment ring and look at your tire. It might be easier with your tire turned all the way left or right, think it over and turn the wheel so that you have room to spin that nut.

Jack up the truck and put it on a stand. This takes pressure off of the coil so that you aren't fighting it as much.

Look at the threads and make sure there is no mud or gritty crap on them. If there is you gotta clean that off, using your brothers toothbrush is recommended.

Once the threads are clean, squirter some type of lubricant on the threads above and below the adjusting ring. WD40 works but isn't really a lube, any penetrating oil like PB Blaster or whatever will work.

Your model has what looks to be an Allen bolt on the ring, loosen that. Now carefully turn the ring. The ratio is something like 1:1.6 meaning if you expose one inch of threads you will get 1.6 inch of lift at the tire. When you get roughly where you want to be, snug up that Allen bolt and you can lower the truck carefully.

Repeat on the other side. I suggest leaving the driver side 2 or 3 threads lower than passenger side to account for driver and gas tank weight. (Lower the nut means more lift)

Now, this is important. With an independent front suspension truck, when you lift it up off the ground and set it down it will look taller than the real height. This is from tire scrub, I won't explain that now, but to see the real height you'll have to drive back and forth a few times so the tires can relax and the true height is revealed.

Good luck man, post results and reach out if you need help.

Alright gang I got everything hammered in as much as I could Looks like I'm Going to need to order a spanner wrench and a set of wheel spacers before I get the rest of my clearance back. Will post pictures in a bit.
