Need to ship a Tundra

Hi everybody,

New to the forum, just bought our first Tundra, a 2016 Blue 1794 4x4. One step closer to an all-Toyota family!!

We need to have it shipped from Dayton, OH to Meridian, MS. Can anybody recommend a good carrier?

Just a heads up, whatever you do, don't get an online quote. I've unsubscribed from probably 40 different email lists in the past month and I'm still getting calls and texts about shipping my truck.

I had a car shipped from Los Angeles to Seattle 3 years ago and I’m still getting quotes as recent as yesterday.

 

I'd drive it.

Most shippers are brokers that hire whoever is closest.

I'd try to find out who Chasing Classic Cars or American Pickers uses.

 

The Mecom Auction guys have their own auto shipping company. Not sure if they do outside of auction business though...

Try Reliable Carriers. They are black and orange trucks, that what the car manufacturers use.

Hey brother, don't mean to hijack the thread, but what wheel/tire combo do you have there? Really like the look.

 

Welcome from Texas. I'd also drive it since it's really not that far, take the family and make a fun little road trip.

 

Carmax tranfers cars all the time for a reasonsble fee. Not sure they would do 3rd party. Worth s call.

You could try u-ship but you get what you pay for on there.

Use these guys. They don't broker out their trucks. They have their own trucks. I have shipped my 300zx from Richmond, VA to Denver, CO 3 years ago and then i just shipped it back yesterday. They are really good and have recommended them to others who were very happy with them.

Thanks everybody for the info so far. I’ll actually be out of town while it’s being shipped, which is why I can’t go get it myself. (I’d prefer that.) My wife is the point person. I’m going to call these suggestions and see what happens.

beating a dead horse here… maybe get a college kid or someone on summer break to drive it?? thanking about poor tundra, all alone on a car carrier
