    Hello guys,

Yessss another nub, so I recently purchased bigger tires for my pro being that we all know the stock Michelin ltx look horrible and they're way too small. So I pulled the trigger on some general grabbers x3 (295/70/18) which I honestly don't have any complaints on but unfortunately my speedometer is off by 3MPH and its killing me. I don't want to lose track of my original miles on my odometer etc. I've looked online for calibrators to purchase but nothing seems to help. The entire truck is stock besides the tires I just mentioned, please any help is well appreciated. Thanks in advance guys!!!

Fixed my issue. Mine was off by 11-15 mph after going with 37" tires.

Not sure what part of the country you are in, but I bought mine from 4Wheel Parts. The link above does not show the actual calibrator. It is a module installed behind the speedometer with a usb cable that you can hook to a laptop and change settings as desired if you change tire sizes.

Call them to verify but I think the p/n you need is Hypertech 730119. It is listed for 2014-2018. Is the 2019 speedometer different?

thanks brother just went through the entire thread,im going to go through it one more time and confirm what exactly im going to do. leaning towards the rough country being that it runs on hypertechs programs and for 100 bucks cheaper. did you use a calibrator as well, 18s and ups are a little different I see you have an 18.

    Thanks in advance

I haven't done it yet. Getting my tires put on next week and was going to see how bad the speedo hit was, then go from there. I'm planning on saving $100 and going the Rough Country route if I decide to get a calibrator though. @azTony has it and I think it worked well on his 2018, minus some quirks with the radar speed control.

I have the Rough Country and the before and after tire size apparently is not correct from the web sites I looked at (Michelin and Nitto) so I had some adjusting to do. When I called and talked to them about it it seemed to be a problem with a "P2xx" size tire vs. an actual size tire it had problems with. If I change the "P2xx" size tire to the actual size (31.9 or whatever it was) then it was much closer. The guy said well you must have to play with it to dial it in.

    :monocle:

Having said this I suggest when you install the calibrator, install the USB program cable and run it down to where you do not have to take the dash apart to program it. I used a zip tie to hold the wire in place so the connector does not back out from vibration. I was not going to do that but I have had my dash apart twice because I bought a Hypertech used calibrator from a guy on here and when I got it and installed it I seen there was a loose wire but installed it anyway thinking it was fine when he took it off his truck (he said). I was getting all kinds of errors and the dash was not correct so I removed it and seen that was not the only wire loose. The seller told me he removed it from his truck before he traded it in. Long story short I was screwed by the transaction and had to buy another one so I bought a Rough Country.

guys thank you so much for all the info @azTony and @TRDFerguson, apparently I called a shop and also hypertech and being that I have a 2019 they mentioned there is a difference between the 18 and 19 and that I shouldn't use it until they release a calibrator for the 2019....this sh*t is killing me having my speedo off by 2-3 mph lol I've honestly decided not to drive my truck until its fixed properly, call me weird I guess ....... aaaahhhhh

I guess the real question here is, has anyone calibrated their 2019-2020 speedo meter with what's available on todays market???? apparently according to hyper tech theres difference between 2018 and 2019...... reason why they haven't released anything yet for the 2019s or 20s

They are not perfect for the 2018 either. Last night I went to update the ratio in the Calibration device and it said there was a later software update so I updated it and did not change the ratio since I did not know what was updated. I had the GPS up this morning on the way to work but I did not see a noticeable difference. It looks slightly closer but then again... I was looking for a difference. I will update tonight like I wanted to and see how it changes tomorrow on the way to work
