You're welcome. Glad you had a tap on hand and got it worked out.

Haha... I didn't, sorta. I went to Ace Hardware earlier in the day in preparation for this.

Truck is a work in progress. I think next step is getting some 18" black wheels and new tires.

Good on you for getting that figured out. I have the same skid and they are more trouble than they are worth, not to mention expensive for what it is.

If you didn’t put some rubber gasket material between the areas where the skid plate touched the frame, you will experience popping noises. No matter if you installed the hardware perfectly.

Best to get some thin rubber gasket material from Lowes and slip in between and retighten.

There are threads on here with pics.

I second the gasket material. The skid is worth it to me though! Peace of mind and easy oil change access.

Thanks for that helpful hint, that noise would have been annoying. I been thinking of upgrading my stock plate to the trd or maybe the RCI.

Wait, what?!? You caught my attention on the easier oil changes. I don't do oil changes right now as they are free at dealership, but I had a 17 CM and was never so disappointed in Toyota when I found out they went to cartridge filter and the location of the filter. Clearly the people who designed the pickup on paper never have done an oil change.

Sorry for the rant. Will look into these skid plates more if I keep truck long enough to have to do my own oil changes again.
