    Bingo...LOL.

I would be looking for something a little wider than my current axle of 67" WMS to WMS. That ford van looks good. However, I would most likely get a manufactured housing anyway though.

I'm really curious to find out how wide the tundra rear end is. All signs point to a custom manufactured deal though.

Thought I'd share some rear end porn that I found doing more homework. Fairly certain this is about as tits as it gets from the TT world. lol
    Specs;
47 spline 300m gun drilled shafts-Aparrently from all of the homework i've done so far. I've learned the TT guys break the 40 splines on a regular basis.
Christman 10" diff- which is a ford 9" clearanced for a 10" ring gear among other specs I can't find.....yet
Just out of shear curiosity I want to know more about this shiny beautiful object lol

It's on milk crates to show off how light it is.

If you have the coin, do it. I would have some envy.

A full Spider 9 is going to cost you some coin too.

That front axle that I posted earlier must me made of gold. Into that one for 5000.00 plus.

Before I make any decisions I'm going to do a bit more homework. I've got a few engineers I can call in some favors from to get that designed. That saves "some" cost. As far as laser cutting goes, i've got a connection there if I supply the material and have the file in the code they need. I'm going down the list of everyone I know to see how much getting that made would actually cost me hahaha. It's kinda like long travel, can't half ass it....gotta use your full ass :D

6 grand is probably the most I'd be willing to spend I think. Somehow every time I pick a number it ends up going up though so don't quote me..

That axle you posted was 5k? Was that just retail or did you end up getting a deal on it?

I would look everywhere. I was very happy with Strange S60 I purchased for my Trans Am. Good for 1500 hp.

You planning full float axle then I presume?

I'm looking everywhere! spending a lot of time in the engineering and racing forums reading up as much as I can so i'm not "that guy" when I start making phone calls getting prices.

From everything that I've learned so far. A full floater is the way to go. I haven't found anything that proves why a semi would be better for my application.

Well that is a long story, and I actually got raped on the truss. I would be into this axle for under 3800.00 including the ram.

First I aquired the center section for 150.00 (normally 850.00, but I know peeps)

    IMAG0407_138b7fb0da04e5a987e10d4433bc0400fae72ca3.jpg

Second I purchased some Solid Cs and off to the axle builder to press and weld in some DOM .250 wall, weld up in his jig.

    Next up was gear install.

    image_zpsb70f8d92_e400221c40fedc3bcb3ee78145af480c6a127207.jpg

Then this is where I screwed the pooch. In my mind, there was a simple truss going on that wouldn't need to pull my gearset out, new seals, and add a metric buttload of weight.

Now to be fair, using a hydraulic ram, big race compound tires and big rocks, some extra strength is needed. My brothers rock racing rig front axle failed down at Patriot (you seen the vids) and that was a long flippen day.

The axle was built to Ford Dana 60 specs from 86-91.5'. Then I put Chevy bearing hubs, knuckles and brakes on it since the Ford shit sucks.

You are already way ahead of the game. Trust me. Don't shy away from buying a housing from one company, a 3rd member from another, axle shafts from someone else, etc. get all the parts and install everything yourself.

Looks like you already figured it out on the decision of going full or semi float. Some do very well on semi float axles, but their rigs are 2600 lbs. build it right the first time with no regrets.

To cut costs, and if it works out in your favor (this might not however), if you spec out an axle that has common length shafts, they will be cheaper and more available. Of course, running full floating hubs on a 9" pretty much total custom anyway.

Can we use the term struggle snuggles instead of rape? lol just putting it out there, it's an option. Maybe toss in some sheep and ketchup too :D

MORE PICTURES! Thankfully I'm not getting into the front diff. And not beating up the diffs as much as you rock crawlers do. Hats off to you guys! For the rock crawling world I imagine that you guys need a much more rugged setup than I do. Also, factors I'm learning that's going to play a big role in selection is side loading the rear ends. Learning that is a pretty important thing to take into consideration.

swap ya ride for ride :)

The full float decision was based off the fact that it can handle more side loading as it doesn't support the weight of the vehicle like the semi floaters do. Less weak points and less parts to fail. Also with a full floater there's less driveline loss with its axle shaft being direct from diff to the wheel. Also means less axle wrap.

I hope what I just said was correct, I've only got a few hours into learning about these suckers. If it's not please correct me!

I wish I could find the length of the tundra rear online. Shooting blanks, trying to get one step ahead of the game.

I figure the truck went custom after the second long travel kit lol

I have the Velcro gloves, you bring the rubber ducky.

I'm not sure we are any more rough on stuff than the desert racers, maybe just different stresses to equipment. Lol.

I have a build thread on here somewhere. Kinda posted it too early being a newb and some may have taken it the wrong way.

Careful what you wish for.....I would swap no problem!!!

Velcro and a rubber ducky!? Damn you're needy, can I just bring some sand paper?

Different stresses mean different builds though. For the most part the process is the same. you are correct.

I did the same thing with my build thread....Pretty sure I upset a ton of people with that thread, If a company lies about their long travel kit that I just spent 9 grand on I'm going to post up the truth. Now I just upload pictures and basics in my build thread. I'll look for yours!

Sweet! Screw going to nor cal once the truck comes back, i'm cruising to C springs!

Looks like you are checking out other racing forums which is a great idea. One can find some really good parts for a great price. Hell, sometimes it is new and didn't fit or whatever. Seen that happen a lot.
