I have a sling for my 870, but no clue what I should be looking at for sling swivels. I have no clue how these things mount, can someone help?

There is a sling mount that goes under the screw cap under the barrel, the second is somewhere near/under the butt. Look for a little raised bump with a hole drilled through it.

I've got an 870 at home, I'll take a pic later.

The sling is not designed for the gun to hang like an AR but rather for when its behind your shoulder when you're walking.

There are many different types of slings, and the sling mounts need to be compatible with the sling. Post up a pic of your sling, that may help us determine which sling mount is best.

Crap, I forgot to snag a picture. But this one I snagged from Google is exactly like mine. You may need to buy the swivels or sling mounts, and yes there is a variety but here is where the mounts are.

Yup, if you have a one point sling, you will need to add a mount compatible with your sling, typically the mount would go just forward or your buttstock, but they have different variations.

yeah, I bought that kit and when it arrived, I realized it was for a 12 gauge. Mine is a 20 gauge. Damn waste of $25

This is the sling I bought, but I'm not limited to this. I'd buy a different one if it made finding the mounts easier.

I have the same sling. It is designed to slip over the but and hold the gun on the pistol grip. It's a bad design. I ended up cutting mine and converting it to be a normal 2 point sling with swivels.

You should buy a sling stud. Can be found a Walmart or any gun shop and the proper magazine cap sling stud. Then you can have the set up like the picture above.

Or any other sling with the same type swivels.
