    hey everybody,
I’m hoping somebody can help me out.

I went to start my truck a few minutes ago and it wouldn’t turn off. When I first went to push the brake in (before starting the truck) it felt like the brake was already mostly pressed in. Then when I turn the key it makes a sound but the engine doesn’t turns over.

    The truck is a 2015, 5.7l

My first thought was the battery is dead, but all of the lights/console displays are working fine, no doors were left open and I don’t think that would explain the brake issue.

    Truck was driving fine yesterday...

Anybody know what might be the problem or at least how I can get it started to take it into the shop tomorrow?

I’m trying upload a video so you can hear the noise, but not having luck with that either at the moment.

Does it make a clicking sound when you try to start it? Just because the lights work doesn’t rule out the battery. It takes a lot more juice to turn over the engine then to run interior lights.

if you have a portable battery starter, try it and see if the engine starts. Last time my battery was dead I had all the lights no issues but not enough juice to start the engine. Toyota oem batteries are not the most reliable imo.

Here is a video of it trying to start.

It doesn’t sound like the clicking sound i’d Expect to hear, but I’m hoping that’s all it is.

    Unfortunately I don’t have a battery tester/charger.

    Thanks for the help!

Used my wife’s car to jump start it. Guess it’ll be time to start looking for a new battery soon.

might still be covered under warranty. Also I always carry a portable battery jumper in my truck. $60 on Amazon. A lot easier to jump start your car/truck.

If it's not still under warrantee, I'm a big fan of Interstate.

Batteries have a 7 year warranty. I skipped the hassle and got one that won’t let me down.

battery terminals tend to corrode fast on the tundras, check them too.

I noticed the corrosion when I was jumping starting. Now that it’s running I’m going to clean the terminals.
