My 2018 has oil leaking from center of tailgate and ponding on the bumper...has anyone had this issue before?

Has it been cold enough for ice, and then warm enough to melt it? What color is it?
    Odor?

Mine did that although not that bad, after I generously sprayed the tailgate latch with silicone spray.

It was in the upper 70s today, no ice at any point in time. The oily liquid is clear like water but it feels like baby oil...doesnt really have a smell either. It was not like this earlier like about 5:30pm (that's when I loaded groceries in back)..I would definitely had noticed. I thought my jugs of water had ruptured on way home but..nope, not the case.

I've spilled oil on my tail gate on other trucks and forgot about it. I just wiped up the visible oil and shut the gate. Days later it looked similar to that because it ran into every damn crevice.

You didn't install any sound deadener or anything in the tailgate?

I have been having locking issues with it..as in..it will lock, sometimes the whole truck will lock by itself but the tailgate will not unlock using the fob..I have to use the key to unlock it. I tried taking it to Toyota dealer after it did that the first time..but got the usual "little lady" treatment like I was imagining it cuz they couldn't duplicate problem.

No sound deadening needed, I usually make sure they are completely knocked out before putting in the back .
Haven't installed anything and if this is the result..I wont be anytime soon!

Did you install a pop-n-lock or did the truck come with one? Maybe the lock actuator blew up.

If it has a power lock actuator in the tailgate, it is dealer installed. Or you had it installed after purchase. Did the dealer lube it when you brought it to them? They may have done a careless job with silicone spray as suggested above and got it all over.

I installed one on mine and it looked like it could hang up easy if it got dry. I greased it well and it's been fine.

My only guess is a careless lube job when you brought it back with the intermittent problem.

A little of this and a little of that. Its pretty run of the mill.
Pretty sure that is the rear blinker fluid. When mine leaked, it did that. Just go to autozone and ask for DOT4 blinker fluid. Should be fine.

I would bet something oily was spilled in the bed and washed out with a pressure washer at some point and it made its way into the tailgate beneath that cover.

And did you wear a dress and heels when you went and bought "blinker fluid"?
