I thought about it but assumed a trailer with any significant weight would have its own brakes.

How much will the potential replacement truck cost?

Most boat trailers if not all that I’ve ever dealt with have surge brakes not electric.

Ahh, I don't have experience with these. I've only towed dump trailers and flat beds, and the occasional car in flat tow. Sounds like surge brakes might push you around before engagement.

Great Brakes on this trailer.........stopping is no issue awesome surge brakes....maybe stops better.

The truck handles it great...meaning it does not push the truck around.

I like a truck with a little more ass pulling up these Ozark Hills.

Blow a trailer tire at 80 and no none is going to be happy.

New tires aren’t immune to a blowout either. Seen plenty.

My father-in-law had a tire let go on his 7 month old 5th wheel. They call them “china bombs” for a reason…

$18k is my thought, ask ~$20k. But time on your side could get you more, if you have it...
Good luck, keep us posted. Knowing the actual value arms the rest of us if we run across a deal on something else.

20 all day long. Start where you want to get that minimum, see what happens. 24900 either gets you the best price ever, or room to make someone feel good and you are still over 20.

I just imagined trying to tow a 4,000lb Bass Boat on the roller coaster road between Springfield and Branson, MO. with a 1st Gen Tundra..... You should get whatever you want to feel safe!! LOL that stretch of road is hilarious and has made 2 of my passengers vomit on 2 different occasions.

If you have not done this already, I would suggest registering an account @ Toyota Owners. You can then share the actual specs that came with the truck. Taking it one step further, input your VIN# and you can see any/all services that were performed at a Toyota dealership that were entered. Share that here also if you wish, after blocking out any/all personal info.
Realize you have thrown some good pics up here but could you post a few more.....decent pic of under the hood for instance. As @bmf4069 says, we love lots of pics. Also, in your opinion, did we put lipstick on a pig as far as frame goes or do you feel the frame was in pretty decent shape for a 21+ year vehicle. Personally, for what I see/know so far, low of 10K and possibly a high of 20K and someone will have a nice truck.

    Toyota Owners Registration

Semi interested and according to where in MO, might won't to see it first hand.

Ive pulled my Casita loaded up on that stretch many times and until I setup the WDH and dialed it in it was not to be tried for fun!
The WDH though transforms the pair and it is no deal at all and about the same weight as that Boat but more Egg Shaped for sure too!

But I agree whatever it takes to make you feel safer makes a safer driver too.

I did register there and look at the past service.

cross members have been replaced by Toyota

part of my process in going through the truck was making sure frame was rock solid …thus sand blasting to reveal any issues …..it was solid.

I can give you the VIN if your interested

and send you more pics if interested.

You and/or someone done a good job with that frame but zooming in causes me to want to see that furry thing at back end of truck frame....sucker for dogs, German Sheppard ?

Did the Toyota Service records give you an indication of where it might have lived most of it's life !

Hello all, I just purchased a 2006 Tundra limited trd with 108543 miles, stock no mods for under $15,000 one owner in New England (Boston) very popular truck here…. So I would say with what you have done to your rig, I would start at 25,000 and show what has been done, you might find that person who would appreciate and know that Toyota’s last for ever…GL…
