I pulled the Duals off to prep and paint the chrome tips. Thought I would be dealing with a (doughnut style gasket) at the separation points but its more like a long thin wire. It did not come off very well. Not sure if I need to go back with an oem part or some sort of aftermarket fix.

Thin wire wrapped around these tips to make some kind of a seal.

Those are one-time-use gaskets. You need new ones.

I have, in the past, used red permatex gasket maker around that pipe before I pressed the two ends together. Sealed up nicely and I never had a leak. It's about the same cost as a new exhaust gasket, but easier to find.

Old thread but thought I’d share since I just did this yeasterday. Both Felpro 60461 & 61540 work. The 60461 was a perfect fit though.
