I'm looking at these with the step-ups and it seems like a really good deal when most sliders are twice that price. I just can't find anything as to how durable they are for actual protection from impact.

    Thoughts? experience?

I looked at these too because N-Fab is a great name. Definitely not actual sliders. I remember some guy did a video review of them on his Tacoma, can probably find it on YouTube. Totally regretted it, and had to buy real sliders afterwards. If your looking for nerf bars that look like sliders they will at least protect better than a normal step up.

Best deal I can find on real sliders are the All-Pro Apex

Yeah, as steps go they're pretty nice; but I wouldn't classify them as real sliders.

Definitely cheaper. Material differences are pretty slight in regards to outer tube, but the main rail and mounting components look very flimsy to be used as a slider. From what I can tell it doesn't even seem to mount to the frame, but to the body of the truck instead, like factory steps do. Says the can repel bouncing road debris but that seems to be about the only bragging right.

    NFab
    • 0.120” wall, 1.75” tubular steel
    WKOR
    • 1/4″ thick x 2″ x 2″ square tube main rub rail for greater foundational strength
    • 3/16″ thick x 1-1/2″ square tube legs to limit flexing while traversing obstacles
    • .120″ thick x 1-3/4″ DOM outer rub rail or heavy duty .188″ thick x 1-3/4″ DOM outer rub rail both with kick-out at rear to assist in pushing away from obstacles
    • 5/16″ thick heavy duty mounting plates
    • 1/4″ thick gussets for added strength

Thanks for all the info. These definitely don't look to be on the level of other sliders.

I was the nfab rep for wetern canada. definitely not a rock rail. just a step system that looks like a rail. good quality stuff but if you want a rock slider these are not it
