I found this soft rubber part on the floor of my '06 Tundra. Can anybody tell me what it is and where it goes?
    Thanks,
    Gary

Okay all you wise guys... I just googled the part number, thanks OR18TRD, and it turns out it's the right cover for the relay resistor for the flux capacitor.

Actually, it's this. But I still don't know where it goes or how it got on my floor. I'm constantly fighting mice in my truck, so maybe they put it there as a warning...

Spark tube cover. Might want to check for leaks since you removed it.

I don't have a 1st Gen to look around or I would. Have you looked in the footwell area of the driver's side for it's matching part on that side?

I'm sorry I'm not of any help!

    Good luck.

I've just found that same part on the front passenger floor after getting my windshield replaced. Looks like it goes somehow between the cowl panel and the front fender. I even tipped the guy, not knowing he buggered-up the seals. :(

Wow, there's a lot of deleted posts in here.

Anyways, it looks like a grommet of some kind. You might pop your cowl off and take a peek inside. 6 Phillips head screws I beleive, and 2 14mm nuts on the wipers.

    Also, welcome to the forum!

Hey newbie, if you'll get me the 10-digit hyphenated number off the part, I'll find it in the exploded diagrams (or try to) but you must give us the pertinent details on your truck. Year, cab type, engine, or you're willing to just give the VIN. Window guy may've replaced the seal, but ... I doubt it :D

I believe this is the fender-to-cowl seal, though. I can't make out this number clearly, taken from OP's part. This one has come up a few times on here though.

Hey, Guys. I've been lurking on here so long I didn't realize it was my first post. :bananadance:

I'm a long-time 1st gen owner, '06 SR5 AC 4.7L 4x4. Love the truck and it's still low mileage as I've always had other vehicles around too. This summer I had the roof repainted for clearcoat peeling so had the cracked windshield replaced at the same time to make the painting easier. When I got the truck back that same "isolator" deal pictured by the OP was in the passenger footwell.

Thanks shifty for the link and BubbaW for the Jan post. My part# is a bit different, 53868-0C030. I'll get the cowl cover pulled and see what I can see.

Hey @Rich L. check to see if you're missing this piece, over on the passenger side (this is driver's side, pictured).

I think this is where it goes, if not, it goes under the cowl. I wasn't going to unbolt my cowl to look. I think the cowl will need to come off to install it though.

No problem. The gist is, I believe as Bubba said, they're held in on one side with double-sided adhesive. The replacement part is cheap if you buy direct from Toyota, under $20 out the door for me IIRC when I carted them up at my local dealership online thru the https://autoparts.toyota.com site. I'd pick them up, just know you'll probably need to pop the cowl in order to replace - and if you're doing that, you may want to also fix the always-leaks-on-you-eventually cowl seal while you're in there, details and part numbers and links to the fix are provided the Definitive Leak Thread in the Cowl Fasteners leak info.

Here are the two fasteners that - without fail - always eventually start dripping into the blower motor box, and onto the passenger floor:

In the leak thread linked above, look for this section for the link to the parts:

Yup, fixed a leak by replacing those cowl fastener deals with new parts last year using the info from that thread.
    Like I said... lurking...
