Hey y’all! Truck (2010) wont start and makes a grinding type noise before giving up. I tried a scanner to see what it could be and this is all that came up on the screen-No dtc or freeze frame data. What does this mean?

I hope its not too close to other vehicles?
    How Old is it?
Any other Symptoms, might just be bad Gas?

Mine are not showing symptoms at all but I am pretty sure the new one is a carrier!

Sounds like you're starter is going out. Or already out. It could also possibly voltage to the starter (ie. battery) What year do you have and how old is the battery?

Its a 2010.Lol. I do have gas in it. I do need an oil change but that can’t be it. I cant see the year on the battery. I’ll probably bring it down to Auto Zone so they can check how much life it’s got left in it.

#1. Make sure your battery is fully charged and not sulfated.
#2. Check battery connections - clean and tight.
#3. Crank motor. If it grinds: starter drive gear/bendix is bad.
If you replace the starter, and it still grinds, it’s a worn ring gear on the flywheel. Big job to R&R the ring gear - transmission has to come out.
