Any time I thought I wanted a 3/4 ton to look cool my dad always would say "Son if you ain't using the truck to make you money then you don't need it." BTW where is you're auction? My dad has been in the business all his life and he's been to a lot of auctions in TX, AR, MS, and a couple in IL.

Well, if money is no object, then just throw some more money at the Tundra and save yourself the Chevy repair problems.

Start your build thread and call it, ‘Money Is No Object and WWWIII with Wife Build’.

You mentioned 8" lift and 35's, I don't think you need that for 35's. Get some Kings, Icons, or the new OME along with some rear attention like leaf springs etc and your good to go. At 8" yo might look small and need 37"s then you'd have to consider regearing. Just a thought.

Money isn't an object but im not gonna go crazy like 1upper (his rig is amazing). On my next two weeks is Lift, rims, tires. I want those pre runner flare. List is growing.

I plan to update my build thread with a surgery date after I place the order.

I have a few guys that work for me that have 2500hd chevys both new and are constantly complaining about how many problems they are having. One has a 18 that’s been in The shop 6 times In 1 yr. for stupid stuff that should never happen. I always think how a day in the shop is a day of Lost revenue. Yeah I sometimes think it would be great to have a truck that could tow a bull dozer but how often do I really need that. Loosing a day of work is a killer. Cost way more than people realize. I’m at over 100k miles and oil and gas is the only thing I have to worry about. Can’t put a price on that!!

2500's are sick, I have been browsing them for 6months now but they want such stupid money for them I haven't jumped ship.

Tons of guys here running 35's on the suspensions I mentioned and look great. Plus going King, Icon, or the new OME your getting quality and capable components compared to a generic mall crawler suspension that will do you more harm than good.

Have you gone through and looked at some of the build threads? There are a ton of guys here running 35's on quality suspension and their trucks look awesome.

    I will explore that path.

I really like the big lift. I was looking at pro comp stage 2 with a AAL to get the rake I want

Are you looking for form or function? I talk like I know what I'm saying and honestly I don't my truck is not lifted but I've been on here and read enough to know what to look for and what not to look for.

Unless you need a true HD truck. I think you will enjoy a lifted tundra more. You picked it over the chevy for a reason the first time

From my dabbling on this forum I'd say you may want to look at other options besides Pro Comp, I think the general consensus is that would be more of a mall crawler lift but as I said before I am by far no expert. I'd love to run 35's and if that day comes I've read enough here to get a base point especially on the front.

I have heard this a few times Chris and was wondering why is it that a diesel is not good for a DD? Honestly always wondered why this was the case....maybe I have been watching too much diesel brothers..you seem very knowledgeable and would love to hear the reasoning for this...

I think fuel costs, DEF, premature wear on front end components, oil change costs, and IF something breaks the cost to fix it is substantially more than a gas burner. If you use a diesel as a DD more than likely the MPG will be close to a Tundra but hook a smaller load like a bass boat the diesel won't see much drop but the Tundra will see a more drastic drop in MPG.
