Got my Limited ORP today and I can’t be happier.

It’s a beautiful truck and it passed all my checklist items:

    • No transmission clunk when starting the engine
    • No brake squeal, reverse or forward
    • No transmission ticking noise in Drive/Neutral/Park
    • Minimal interior door creak, if any
    • Wind noise at 60mph is not noticeable (picked up the truck at the border of Wisconsin and the Windy City)
    • No interior door rattle from the speaker
    • Front door seals are installed
    • Window seals look good enough
    • No suspension squeak when pushing down on the tailgate
    • Bedliner hasn’t peeled off yet

So far my favorite things are the quietness of the cabin, the drivetrain and the digital rearview camera.

Drove 100 miles from kenosha toyota in wisconsin to illinois, then back to the dealership. Averaged 18.7mpg driving between 20-50mph and going through a bunch of stoplights.

400 miles more and we’ll be home.

Other than the bed liner, we’re truck twins. I haven’t given the digital mirror enough testing time yet.

I like the grey and the brushed aluminum. Are
You thinking of color matching the grille and rear bumper panels?

Did it come that way from the factory or did you request the dealer install them?

I'm too broke after buying this rig to afford mods.
How the hell do you get this kind of mileage? Mine doesn't go over 17 and change and I have a hybrid.

    Maybe crap CA gas?

Congrats on your new truck BTW!!

    Thanks!

Speed limit on 90-W is 70mph. I kept it between 65-70mph most of the time, and when no car was behind me I would even drop to 60mph, then worked my way back to 70mph…rinse and repeat. I was just being mindful of the break-in period. Driving in the middle of the night helped with varying my speed.

Stretches of road construction also forced 55mph speeds.

I think speeds above 70mph has greater negative effect on mpg.

Funny, I’ve had my truck for just 1 day and I already have more miles, haha. Maybe that’s an old pic.

Anyway, nice job. You have to share your driving technique and save us some gas money.

That just doesn't sound like any fun. When I want to be a boring tightwad, I'll drive my Corolla. My Tundra is meant for fun.

So i've had a non-hybrid and now the turd pro.
With hybrid in sport mode it's a totally different truck due to how responsive and quick it is. Feels like a supercharger, literally snaps your neck.

The more time I spend actually looking at my MGM LE, the more I want to color match everything and get rid of the chrome window trim. It didn't bother me at first..

    - I run Premium fuel, running regular will retard the timing between 11 and 13 degrees, basically giving you less MPG
    - I get worse milage in ECO mode. I run in comfort ( I have the advance pack so get 5 drive modes )
    - On highway I always run cruise, I find I stomp on it to much if i manually drive it
    - I do the " pulse and glide" in town and drive all over on full electric which help the city mileage
    - I am bone stock and keeping it that way
    - City I get 23- 25 MPG , and hiway 28-30 MPG since the day I drove it off the lot

We used to call that driving on eggshells... try not to break any!
I would find myself leaning and rocking towards the steering wheel to get more "momentum" it's a fun challenge to see what you can squeeze out.
    Lol
    25/22 are great numbers!
20.1 was my best, but that's for the v8

No, not at this time. On my previous non-TRD 2023 Limited I did experience suspension squeak at around 3500 miles.

I think just staying within the speed limit helps a lot with better mpg. It also makes for a less stressful drive.

Here are a few reference numbers from this website, https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/math/speed-distance-time-calculator.php

    distance = 500 miles
    70 mph = 7 hours, 8 minutes
    75 mph = 6 hours, 40 minutes

If the speed limit is 70 mph, I don't need to get more stressed out and spend more on gas just to save 28 mins when driving to a destination that is 500 miles away.

Also, stretch your vision to about 12 seconds ahead to better prepare for road conditions, stoplights, intersections, turns, slowdowns, elevation changes and hazards. Better mpg and safer drive.
