The (incredibly honest and lovely) seller and I just made a deal and I am soon to be the owner of a 2013 5.7 Dbl Cab Tundra. 129k miles. The truck is in pristine condition and has been very well cared for. I am super happy.

I struggled with the decision because I needed a plow truck pronto, and there was a 4.7 with plow ready to go and well priced. However, I did a test drive of the 5.7 first, and while the 4.7 was a really great truck, it just didn't feel as solid/stable/powerful. In fact, the 5.7 felt bigger inside and out - but perhaps that was my imagination.

I went well over my budget but I hope this truck lasts a long time.

Now I need to get a plow. I'm reading that a Boss HTX is the best bet. A friend is suggesting I get coil springs to support the front-end so skidplates and winches, for example, are not bottoming out under load. I've also read that Tundra's are totally capable of plowing without any adjustments. Any opinions appreciated on this as I'm about to order a plow.

I will only be plowing my (very steep and unlevel dirt/gravel) driveway.

Thanks so much for any thoughts.
