I just recommended these to someone here in North Texas and I was surprised that they increased in price. They used to be $440. I’m glad I got mine when I did.

Looking at the Catshield. Does it help protect the rear cats or just the front ones? Photos look like it leaves the rear cats exposed?

Rear CATS are partially exposed. I still think they’re the best plates you can get. Especially with the tamper proof screws and the 3/16” aluminum thickness. Steel is too heavy in my opinion.

Tamper proof screws are a joke, easily drilled out. Even easier with a left handed bit and high torque drill.

Thanks. It looks like its nicely thought out but wish it covered the rear CATS to.

Can I just say that this whole cat stealing thing is truly one of the most disgusting things I have ever heard of. I don't understand how these thieves can sleep at night. Get an F'ing job and go buy your own shit w/your hard earned money, it is still just so hard for me to fathom that people have no morals. I know, call me naive but it just chaps my hide to think we have to go out and spend all this money to protect what is already ours. Ok, enough said!

They have a great reputation for theft deterrent. Also, take into consideration that if you cover all four CATS you could have overheating issues with your transmission. This set-up allows everything to breath while also deterring theft.

Anyone know if the Millercats work with a Ready lift? If so I may be ordering these as a backup. The other option is taking forever.

I poked around their website. I don't know why I get scumbag vibe off it. In the faq section there is a question of what do you need in order to sell to them and it says it varies by state, county and such. Right. How about proof of ownership over the cat or where it came from, every time.

In machining, we produce lots of used carbide, carbide is dense and is valuable scrap. In order to sell the scrap, you have to prove what machine shop you got it from, have contact info for the shop and they will in fact verify. Scummy companies like the one you posted are fueling the thefts.

I gave them a bad review and they said this:
Response from the owner 20 hours ago
PGM of Texas follows the State and county statutes for every location in regards to purchasing regulated metals. We do not purchase from the public unless proof of ownership can be established or the proper metal recycling entity license is presented and verified. We are sympathetic when a crime is committed and work closely with our local law enforcement to help at whatever capacity we can. Please reach out to us at headquarters and ask for Luke or Pete, phone number (844) 271-9198, if you have any questions. However if you haven't already, call the police and file a police report if you've been the victim of a crime.

I suspect - the perps steal them, then sell to scrap houses....then the scrap houses sell to PGM.

they are special...like the white speck on the pile of chicken shit....still chicken shit.

The cats go there, whether they are sold to junkyards first is questionable. "We follow the state and county statutes" does every one of those states and counties require proof of ownership before they buy them? Why not a hard rule across the board requiring proof of ownership? Money. That's why.

@nobodyintexas So you suspect they operate that way? Anyone think about picking up the phone and calling them? It doesn't seem like a move a company would do if they were actually doing something illegal (responding with contact info). Just seems pretty unproductive and irrational to assume something about them based off of no info at all. Hell, i'll call them myself. I'll let you know what they say

You left a 1 star review there because your converters got stolen. Why would you 1 star them and not call them if you thought they had something to do with your converters getting stolen?

I finally cut out and bolted a plate under my truck. 304 stainless 1/8 thick. I was able to make it wide enough to follow the frame. You cannot fit a tool in it to cut but is enough gap to breathe. Over the rear cats it could have been 2 or 3 inches longer. You could get one cut on the passenger side but that is it.
