Going to spend more money than you would in gas for a couple of years to get 2 more MPG? I wouldn't worry about it and just fill'er up.

You're not considering that I'll recover a fair portion by selling the Fuel/BFG set up, but I also will put about 15K miles/year on it, maybe more if I can improve it another 2 mpg. Already getting over 18 with just the winter set up. If I can get 19-20 that would be excellent compared to the 15-16 I started out with, but even 18-19 would be great (for a truck.)

Hahaha -neither, but I do prefer hybrid to Plug in electric. The Hybrid Tundra didn't interest me as the mpg improvement was only in city driving which accounts for less than 5% of my driving. I also need more range than most (if any) plug in electrics offer so it's not even on the table.

If u want better mileage, do what I did and buy your wife a hybrid then drive it when she isn't. Averaging 30+ mpg between my trucks 15 and wife's 52 lol

this was our strategy. Tundra for truck things. NX350h for normal things. 40-50 and 17-19 average well especially cause her drive is more 'city' heavy and the truck is highway or offroad

Exactly what we do. Truck sits Monday to Thursday then gets used for fun and weekend stuff and offroad. I guess it works especially well for me since I ride a bike to work.

We do that when we can. My wife's ride gets 26-28 but only when we're up north. We don't bring it here cuz it's very low and more of a plow than a good snow car.

Rolling resistance of a tire is a constant value at all speed ranges whether you’re accelerating, coasting or cruising. The equation for it is something like rolling resistance force = weight x rolling resistance factor.
By the way, unsprung mass is only really important for suspension and its dynamics. Fuel economy doesn’t care whether mass is sprung or not, all mass has a negative effect on efficiency.

For all those who traded their 2.5 gen Tundras for the new Tundra chasing better fuel economy ... cheers!

19.1 right now with stock (Bridgestone) tires and run it on economy. My economy did seem to get better with time. Break in ? Me getting used to the truck ?
    Hope this helps, Kid

Exactly. If I put my mind to it I could achieve 28mpg. Then I threw those stupid OEM tires out and just drive it. I look at it like my 3rd gen Hybrid has a 50% fuel burn compared to my 2012 Platinum. So no matter what mileage I get, it’s a crap load better than what I had.

I was trying to show off for my 15 year old the other day and could not get the wheels to spin at all in a straight line. Had it in sport+ mode with traction control off. Only time it broke loose was when I turned a corner I got it to slip but that's it. Was rather disappointed if I'm being honest.

Personally, I enjoy the cartoon balls; green screens and cgi. You can tell it's real by how fake it looks.

If the wind is right and the stars align I’ll get over 18 on a highway trip. Otherwise I’m usually in the 16s.

I care more about range and the big tank gives me over 400 miles easily, so I’m generally happy.

I'm running larger tires and a lift on my 3rd gen Tundra - so my fuel mileage is terrible. That's fine.

    But the 2024 Tacoma is 21mpg combined. With a 4 cylinder. Wow. That's miserable for a mini-truck.

I haven't sat in the 2024 Taco. But my hair touches the ceiling in the 2nd gen Taco. I needed a Tundra so I could sit up straight.
