i may do a few more things. i want some tow mirrors so if you ever come across a good deal let me know. I got the truck little over 2 years ago and have done a decent amount to it. also installed AMP Steps. Awesome truck i towed my jeep cherokee from Tampa FL to Seattle Wa in September. pulled it like a champ. i was about to put a bigger lift on it before i got orders to Wa, glad i didnt cause that would have killed gas mileage even more. i would like a 6' lift someday but i dont really mind the height it is now either. its got 3/2 on it.

Does anyone know why Toyota builds hood scoops on Tacoma' s and not Tundras?

I don't think anyone knows. Probably because the full size "American" trucks don't have them. That or for the same reason they changed the rear seat configuration on the 14' crewmax ? :frusty:

I'm with you man. But mx superfly has a good point. I still love my hood how it turned out. If I ever decided to trade it in at a stealership the hood will be on CL or on here for sale plus trade for a silver one. But I do t see that happening anytime soon. I've owned the truck 2 1/2 years and still love it. I think Toyota should run with my idea.

The 2016 Dodge Ram Rumble-bee will have a hood scoop. 1st OEM hood scoop on a Ram.

The donor hood was from a 1999 Subaru legacy station wagon.

I had a customer ask me about the rear seat change in the crew max and originally I didn't know what to tell him. Then I asked my toyota rep. And he told me the change was made because of testing with the side curtain air bags, they found it is better to be more in the upright position rather than the reclined position

Interesting. I saw a video in which the head engineer for the Tundra said that it was a result of buyer feedback and I think he said they tried to keep a comfortable angle, which isn't as upright as the other trucks.
Of course I can't find the video atm...
