Must have/awesome mods under $100?

First gen for sure. Not experienced with second gen so I cannot say. It really helped my braking hugely.

 

They make the OEM replacement cases which do not contain the internal buttons/keyboard. You just swap the internals into the new case. I like the OEM as its smaller and rounded. Yours looks cool though. Does it require programming?

 

Nope, literally what you just said. Swap internals into the AJT case. They even provide the Allen wrench for the screws.

 

Only the 1st gen. The brake bias is built into the master cylinder on the 2nd gen specifically cause it has calipers in the rear instead of wheel cylinders.

Not sure. I have the same two fobs that came with the original purchase. No writing on them. Just two black buttons in a dark gray case.

Just over $100 but my favorite "cheap" mod is the Scangauge2. Having that really changed the way I understood my truck.

An under $100 option is the Ultragauge. I got one recently but haven't really figured it out yet, haven't taken the time to calibrate it.

I picked up two spare 35s for under hundred for both with 80% tread life left anf DOTs still in service. Its a spare....no need to buy new.

 

Tighten your window track bolts (10mm) located on your door jamb just 12” below the latch. 1/4” turn eliminated window rattle at speed when windows were rolled half down. FREE!

What information do you get with the scangauge? Trans temp? Engine oil temp?

It can monitor 4 things at a time. Normally I run:
Real time MPG
Trip average MPG
Load
Intake air temp (or calculated horsepower for fun)

It can do trans temp for most years but I don't care about that. It can do several other cool items. It can do 0-60 times and I think quarter mile times, and reads/clears engine trouble codes.

 

Plus one for the keysmart. Love mine.

The fog anytime mod is relatively cheap (some wire and connectors) and is so worth it. Just did it over the weekend and it's fucking awesome to be able to control my fogs whenever I want.

The 02’ SR5 came OEM with this ability. Nice option. I usually keep mine on all the time in conjunction with when the headlamps are on for evening driving.
