Multicam black paint job

I want to rattle can my Pistol and this kid killed it. I am trying to find a step by step. I’m using 3 colors dark grey, mountain green and flat black. Should I do:

1.base coat black then stencils
2. Stripe it with grey and green then stencils
3.finish with black?

The kid crushed it. I thought duracoat or cerakote but it was rattle canned. Which gave me the motivation to do it lol.

So, what/how did you end up doing it?

I’m picturing adding some vinyl/tape stencils, spraying first color, then pulling some of those (or parts of them) off but leaving the rest and laying down more over top the first coat and then giving it a stay with the second color. Relay for each color, then peel all the stencils off. Am I close?
Also not sure why you’d need flat black if you’re starting with black, unless that’s the primary final color you want

 

So I tapped it then hit it with alcohol. Did a od base coat then did three stripes of grey. Put my stencils down and went over green stripes with grey and grey stripes with green. Threw some more stencils down and hit it with black. Let it dry then pulled all the stencils off. Let it dry over night and hit it with matte clear 3-4 coats. Ya I wanted it to be more black than any other color.
