Oh I didn't know about those, are they specifically to look for “illegally modified cars”?

Yep. CHP makes money that way. I've only been stopped in cars at these checkpoints but never in a truck. I guess I've just been lucky. Not worried about it with this truck though.

The DD 10 inch is nowhere near loud enough for a cop to check

After a few hours of soaking.. Hit the heads of the bolts with a hammer! Then soak again and repeat! After a couple times they will come loose..

I have a 50 Series and it is slightly louder than stock. It did improve performance when I added dual outs. However, I am looking at pulling it all off and going with the TRD Exhaust. However.... I just got turned onto Dirty Deeds and I am looking into that right now.

said everything perfectly. I’ve got the 10” and couldn’t be happier. I’m not using the resonator and it’s still wonderful.

Just ordered the same system. The drone isn’t bad, even without the resonator?

Not at all, though haven't really been having to drive all that much. I got this one though for when I get a trailer, I've heard people say the drone gets pretty gnarly when towing.

You can always add the resonator later. Which was my original plan but it's not bad enough for me to want to add it.

Same here! Sounds too good don’t want to mess with it!10 inch no resonator.. Slight drone at about 60-65 mph in 6 th gear. But who really drives that speed for long?

How is drone on the TRD system ?

I'd like a true dual system that is fairly quiet. My days of Drag Racing and loud exhaust are long behind me. :bananadead:

Not much drone, but a choppy helicopter like resonance between 55 and 65 in 6th gear. Once the system burns in it becomes more tempered, but it still bothered me. But not everyone is bothered by it.

    Nice sounding system otherwise.

If any drone can be heard... I'm not interested.
I had a supercharged C6 Corvette a few years ago... drone was so bad that it would rattle the fillings out of your teeth.
Ran like a beast @636rwhp, but was pretty obnoxious to drive.

I'd like the added power of true dual exhaust with rear side exits, but without disturbing the neighbors when I leave for work at 0500. ;)

another vote in favor of the 10” standard bamuffler. just put mine on a few weeks ago (with the resonator bc I tow my Polaris fairly often). there is definitely more to it than stock. it’s deeper and very smooth. nice rumble on ignition and when accelerating. no drone at all.

I didn’t want to be accused of having a midlife crisis, but if I were a younger man, I’d probably have taken a longer look at the 8”. as it is, I’m very pleased with my choice.

Exactly as I've done this past Sunday, however, I'm holding off on the resonator until next week. Want to see if the wifey notices any drone that I'm not. We only tow a pontoon a couple times a year, as well as a artic cat other times. I also didn't want anything too obnoxious, Keith recommended the 10". I'm lovin' it so far!

i have the budget solution... Flowmaster Super 50 - full stainless steel ($165 CDN on Amazon) and a resonator pipe from Dirty Deeds.

The combination is perfect. It growls off the line, dead quiet cruising on the highway, and there is ZERO drone through the entire rpm range.

No better bang for the buck.

In fact, a lot of members here have not used their DD resonators. You may be able to snag one second hand and save even more.

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
I really enjoy it. To me, there isn't any drone. It is a true dual system that gives the truck more bass to its sound. No rasp or growl you get from most after-market exhaust kits. Its a unique tone that I think is perfect and what I wanted out of this truck since i'm getting older myself.

The biggest downside in my opinion is that there is still only one (stock) tailpipe used.

Yeah I was never a fan of raspy, cherry-bomb-crackle sounding exhaust. Just a deep low rumble and clean quiet idle would be nice.

I'll have to look online for some sound clips of the TRD system.
