She’s also wanting fender flares, but the only Sequoia ones we’ve found are the flat looking ones, which we aren’t fans of. Wish there were some like mine available for a Sequoia.

That’s cool, almost bought a sequoia, but Tundra won. Lol looks really slick, even better after your detail work!

Should have wheels and tires done this week, and the grill and mirror caps should be back from the painter in the next day or so. That’s going to cover the biggest changes I’m making.

After that, I’ll be addressing the remaining chrome. The badges and big chrome strip down the side will either be removed or plasti-dipped. The Toyota and Sequoia emblems on the rear are available in black, but it’s not cheap. Really wish the Platinum badges were available in black. I’d rather not go the plasti-dip route.

Got the grill and mirror caps back last night. She doesn’t get home before dark this time of year, so it’ll likely be this weekend before I get them on. The wheels and tires are also in, so we’ll be having those put on Saturday.

After that, I’ll be making a plan for the rest of the chrome.

Nice. Looking forward to seeing it all come together. Is she as excited as we are for it?

She’s getting there. She’s said all along that she didn’t need it modded out, and liked it the way it was. She did like the pro grill, so agreed to let me order one. Once I put that thing on to show her how it looked before I had it painted, she got pretty excited about doing more.

In about a week, she went from “I don’t need it changed” to picking wheels, wanting the door handles and mirror caps changed, asking about the chrome strip on the side, etc. She even started taking pics of the truck and coloring in the chrome parts to see how they’d look.

On Sunday, she saw a white “Nightshade” 4Runner and started asking how to change the chrome on the tailgate to black like that one had.

She has it better than the rest of us do. She has the mod bug, but has someone to do all the work for her.

Ive already benefited though. I held her black door handles up to mine, and she said it looked way better and I should get me some.

Sweet ride. My wife has a 2008 Tahoe, she loves the damn thing. It's got 180k some what trouble free miles, nothing major. I've already told her, it hits 200k, it's going to belong to the Toyota dealership. Gonna get her a Sequoia.

That’s great that you’ve had good luck with the Tahoe. My wife had two of those before the first Sequoia (this is the second one), and we seemed to have constant issues.

We got her first Sequoia in 2012. She put 200k on it, and nothing ever failed on it. Outside of maintenance, brakes, bulbs, battery, etc, we never had to touch it. It’s still running perfectly. The only reason we got the new one was she works out of town a lot, and I start to get nervous when her mileage is high. I’ve had to drive to Austin before when she broke down there in her last Tahoe. I also had to leave work way too often when she broke down in Houston.

She also wanted to upgrade to a platinum from the limited, and we found a great deal. It’s frustrating that they haven’t updated them significantly since 2007, but she loves them. Those things are the most comfortable ride I’ve ever driven, and built like a tank.

No way! It's the reason why I bought a Sequoia. Didn't need to pay new price for a car that's used and looks just like a new one! And I don't need to keep regretting how I didn't get the latest and newest tech/features
