I have a mower waiting for me, I just need to pick it up. Granted, I won’t need it until around spring, but I also don’t want to take up additional room in the garage when we have a decent sized backyard.
Is anyone using a storage shed for their lawnmower? I’m talking a electric push one- not a John Deer. Post up pix if you can!

I used a small Tuff Shed at my old place I moved from. H Depot carries a lot of different sheds perfect for stowing away mowers and lawn/ gardening stuff.

Sean I had a 8 x 10 storage shed, similar to this one. I built a ramp only because I had a rider. Even though your storing just a push mower get something big enough for your weed eater, blower, and other equipment you may want to store. Look at between $500-2000. Depends on what you want. Happy hunting:D

Here is mine I built a few months ago. Bought it online from Costco for a little under $1K. I had to buy the paint and shingles. It was delivered in a crate and it was pretty simple to build. It's an 8X12 and fits my little riding mower and snow blower along with other items no problem. Still need to build a ramp.

I am not a fan of semi-permanent sheds at all.

    In 5-10 years:
    Costs money to buy.
    Costs time to build.
Provides a great nesting area for rodents.
    Costs time to break down.
Costs money to dispose at dump.

If all it is housing is a cheap mower, I would instead cover it and leave it outside under an eave.

This one has a 5 year warranty:
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ryobi-2...attery-and-Charger-Included-RY40180/206481611

Add up what a new lawnmower costs, and tell me its worth protecting like a classic car. It isn't. They are disposable. Just like semi-permanent sheds.

    I like that!.

@Sean266 just like buying a boat, safe, or trailer I would go bigger than you expect because you will use the extra space I guarantee it.

If it's just a push mower I'd just tarp it and leave it behind the house also make sure to lock it
I've lost several push mowers from them just walking away. But the over all cost of a shed is most likely more than the price of your push mower which wouldn't make economical sense to purchase and build a structure for such a small and low cost item.

If it's a larger mower more prone to unwanted attention I'd get some sort of shed. Shed in this pic is an 8x8 sole purpose is to house one of my 52" ztrs and one fs90 trimmer.

The best thing about a shed is it clears out the garage (Tundra likes breathing room). I take care of my garage better than most people take care of their house so it's nice to not have clutter, or a tarp covering equipment in the backyard.

I built one for an outside doghouse for my pooch while I'm at work, put a 6' black steel fence around it, with his own "yard".

I put a man door in back for my access, and an additional wall and door inside. So half of it is his and half mine, for storage, but he can't access my side.

For one electric push mower I would not go through the trouble or expense.

Update. It’s a hybrid. Gas or electric. I did get a super nice Black and Decker electric trimmer that weights maybe a couple of pounds!

I, also, have a Rubbermaid hard-plastic shed....even comes with a hard-plastic flooring. I keep my snowblower, mower, and BBQ grill in there. I got her marked WAY down one fall when they wanted to make room for Christmas stuff.

Do you have a walk out basement?
I'd put it down there. especially if you're running it without gas.

If you don't have a need for a shed, another option may be a bed cover or topper on your Tundra and just keep the mower in there.

Ok, here we go. This is how I stored my push mower for the winter. Tank is 2/3 full of premium gas. I mowed the last time then just shoved it under the steps.

I have no garage or storage shed. We'll see if it starts in a few months. LOL
