In an effort to quiet the beast, I plasti-dipped the goat lock shackles.

I added a battery isolator today. This setup is more just a prolonged battery isolator than a hidden switch. Although, I’m sure this would still leave most scratching their heads... I work one week at a time and it sits with all its battery robbing jewelry and kills the battery in freezing temps, so here’s my fix.

I started by drilling a 3/4” hole in the inner fender skins and roughing in the switch location.
Then I crimped a 1’ long-0 gauge welding cable for the positive circuit extension. Bolted this from switch side (-) side of the switch to the positive battery lug.
Oh right, I decided to upgrade the oem battery lugs for some generic brass lugs as the factory’s were getting stretched and loose.
Decided to keep all the factory cables/lugs in tact incase I suck at wiring haha. So, I re-routed the winch and oem positive lug cables to (+) side of the switch and taped the hell out them to form a harness.
Then, I added a power-tap, for future electrical panel upgrade and stereo. I started with a 1’ long-4 gauge cable tied to an old Phoenix Gold single 4 gauge to quad 8 gauge power splitter. Bolted the splitter to the top/rear of the oem fuse panel lid.
    That’s bout it. :hattip:

Great mod! Ive been thinking of doing the same thing. I work week on/week off and worry a dead battery when i get home, especially in winter.

That's really cool. Any particular reason you didn't put the switch inside the cab?

Well, here is my plan. I want to make a ceiling light feature. Then I thought goat horns would look cool. Figured you masel see them from outside the truck too so I set the dimensions up so the horns hug the outer edges of the rear view mirror. I’ve gotten this far without wrecking any of it and am nervous af to start cutting letters out with a jig saw haha. I’ll use the red led strips posted in #431. Anyway what ya think?

That makes more sense than what I was thinking with the PC panel, as you can still see the light on the perimeter and the logo. Could get one of those sound activated light strips and make your truck a snowplow rave :taco::rockband::bananadance:.

This all stemmed from me wanting to add an auxiliary switch panel FYI. Got the switches mounted this morning. It’s starting to look functional, not just over the top haha

Nice! Will that light be ran on a switch or are you tying it into the map lights? I never realized 2nd gens had 2 of those flip compartments.

Thanks, I’m planning to tie it into the gauge dimmer switch so it dims with the gauges. I broke one of the horns off tonight so it’s just gunna be a rectangle now haha.

I added a steering wheel spinner... the goat is a tractor now after all.

But honestly, the next best upgrade since the plow. If you have a plow, you need a wheel spinner too.

Oh, the goat also shedded its rack. Need to make some mods to the rack. I also plan on building a rear spare tire mount. I will fab a frame-to-bed mount bracket that runs to each bed/frame bolt at the rear of the bed floor. I’ll weld a nut to receive the spare wheel retainer key in the center on the bracket and call it a day.
Overall, I hope to gain some rear weight ballast for plowing and winter driving.

I drilled some holes in my roof yesterday.. Installed m4 nutserts for a factoryish install of these amber leds. Started wiring, I got 12 wires pulled from under dash (enough tail to clear firewall and make the relay box) up to the newly added overhead console switch panel. More to come as the wiring continues.
Ps: I used the right stuff again in this job, I ran a bead around the bottom edges and also the screw heads.

Do the spacers work with the wheel caps on? I just had my leveling kit installed and the shop mechanic told me they only had three threads left. So they did not install my spacers.
