Morimoto Tails... When will Tundras have availability?

Im not really interested in the turn as tail but curious as to who is working on this.

 

Why wouldn't you want a turn as tail system?

 

Because I’m running the HiRevs and perfectly happy with them.

 

I think there might be a couple different groups working on it. I think Meso Customs is one working on it, but I could be wrong.

 

I totally agree and I didn’t want to stray too far from OEM look. I really like the amber sequential turn signals on these. I would have done the turn as tail too but the amber was too much to resist, lol.

 

I am not a fan of sequential, and even knowing that amber stands out more, I prefer red. I could do the hirevs because they really look the most OEM, but if I can get a harness for stock housings... best choice for me.

 

I wasn’t a fan either but this one is a quick sequential that is barely noticeable. There is a small amber strip right in the middle of the housing when activated. I initially thought the whole housing would blink sequentially but that wasn’t the case and I’m glad. The route you are going will look good too.

 

One day, maybe one day, Morimoto will post video of the tails in action.

 

They will, for the new 2022 4th gen.

 

Is there not going to be a 2nd gen option?

 

When are these morimoto taillights coming out? Is there a waiting list?

 

Alpharex got lazy with the tail lights. Really like their headlights though, especially the NOVAs, no issues since I got them.
All of the tail lights that they've released are Torcia Auto lights out of taiwan with a higher price and without the funky tailgate stick on part. Here's a screen shot of them, I'm sure a few members will recognize them since they've been posted before lol.

 

Saw a Tundra in person with these once. I reacted the same

 

I'm doing the turn as tail system in my stock housings. Kits should be available for pre-orders in a few weeks.

 

Looked that up and had no idea that was a thing. I really like that, will be on the lookout for pre-orders. Thanks for the heads up

Yep...its called look elsewhere. I have been asking them about a video release for months now....same excuse time after time. Vleds for me.

I hate this, because I think they make good products too!

 

Just finished a chat with Morimoto. Release won't be until the end of the year, but he did confirm that they are the same design as the Tacoma XB's. Good news...there is a video.

If it's like the Tacoma then I'm good with them. Reverse lights should be bright as hell too!

 

Winjet sequential here for half the cost.

Ive had Morimoto products before and had issues. Just saying

 

Honestly I like the design of these "offbrand" lights. Now, after saying that..... every single one has an issue with not being as bright as the factory brake lights.... and I definitely don't want to go dimmer, when it comes to warning people behind me that I'm slowing down. Until companies solve this issue, I will agree that they are junk as well. My opinion only.
**edit** After re-reading my post it kinda sounds harsh.... maybe not junk, just not worth it to me

 

Your posts makes complete sense. That's one of the reasons why you don't see Putco led bulbs any more. They were dangerous.

 

Actually, the HREVS tails are brighter than the factory lights. Personally I think they are the best taillight for the tundra and come in half the cost as the Morimoto’s.

 

Except for that thin strip sequential turn. I don't see how that is bright enough from a hundred yards away even

 

I guess you just have to experience it yourself for it is very bright. Has a sort of ping / strobe affect to it.
