Looks so good! I have the RCI engine skid, but definitely want to add more. Not related to the new armor, but what rear coils are you running? The color makes me think of this Australian brand, Dobinsons.

Also recently got the Burger Tuning throttle tuner installed and their oil catch can as well. These are some images from their site as I haven’t taken any myself. Cannot recommend these two products enough. I've been emptying the oil catch can around every 2 weeks and I'd say I have a good 1/3 of a shot glass of contaminates in there. It's crazy how much stuff these trucks recirculate back into the intakes. Glad I got this one relatively quickly. I would recommend some long needle nose pliers for the install, and preferably someone with small hands to help get the hose clamp near the rear of the engine off.

As for the throttle tuner, I now have a nice linear throttle without the dead spots in the pedal. Has definitely improved my driving experience and takes all of 30 seconds to install. I believe there's 7 adjustment points. 1 neutral, 3 in the red and 3 in the green. Red drives a lot like sport mode and green drives like eco for me. Lately I found a happy spot with 1 spot up from neutral in the red.

Their stuff is awesome. I'm super pleased! And yep just realized I don't think I ever posted about those. They're Dobinsons 2" coils.

A couple days ago I headed over to my buddy Mitch's shop, Blaze Offroad, to switch some things up. I'm sure some of you have noticed but I've been running two 10" baja designs light bars as "fog lights" on my bumper and then Diode Dynamics pod lights throughout the rest of the truck. DD light bars need a major overhaul and it was killing my OCD that the lights weren't matching. So we made the switch to Baja Designs instead! LP4 pro, Squadron pro and S2 pro to replace the SS5, SS3 and SSC2 in the bumper. We also put an S2 in the ditch light position but might try changing that out for something with a little more size, not sure yet.

I haven’t had a chance to do some real world tests yet, but the Baja Designs pro models look a hell of a lot brighter than the Diode Dynamics pros. Maybe the DD max options would be a better comparison.

I've got a few other BD boxes sitting in the garage and some other stuff on the way. Wait till you guys see what we have coming for it next!

I absolutely love everything that you have done to this build! Have you had a chance to take it off road to ensure that there is no rubbing? I want to go with 37s but I am concerned that eliminating all rubbing while pushing it hard off road may be a problem. Keep up the posts, I can't wait to see what's next!

Thank you! I haven't done anything too crazy yet because I've been waiting on the sliders to be finished first! I will agree, fitting and stuffing 37's is a huge challenge. I still need to lift the front a bit more and add some extended bump stops and I'm hoping I should be able to clear them decently well with that.

Got the Baja Designs 20” behind the grille light bar added a couple weeks ago. For my setup, I was able to just loosen the whole front clip and squeeze everything in there and didn’t have to completely remove everything. Might be a bit more difficult for those of you on stock bumper setups. I would recommend doing this while you’re doing the pro grille swap, it would make everything much easier. Wired up with the harness from Blaze Offroad to my Garmin PowerSwitch. Got some more Baja Designs goodies on the way!

Is your grille swap Toyota OEM? Or is it an aftermarket one like Rave Off Road?

I recently swapped my Limited grille for the Rave one. I like it a lot, definitely made the truck look better. It came with a lightbar of their own creation and it is just “meh”. I’m wanting to change it to something different like a Diode. But I worry that Rave made their own mounting points, so I won’t have a good way to mount a different light bar.

Montera is LilB making these bumpers or is it a one time fabrication. If this has been answered my apologies I didn’t read all the posts.
Went to website but didn’t see any bumpers for 2022/2023
Thank you for your time sir!

Sorry for the late response. He's mass producing these and last I checked they should be on the website. If not, shoot them a message on IG!

Been a while since I've posted in here. Been enjoying life lately and getting in quite a bit of mountain biking and travelling in. Biggest change recently was the swap to the new RS2-H from Relations Race wheels. These are their monoforged wheels and are considerably lighter than my previous RR7's. The powdercoat is said to be of much higher quality as well. Took a minute for them to grow on me but I really like them now and the truck even feels a bit quicker loosing all that unsprung weight.

Also have some super exciting stuff in the pipeline for the coming months. Likely going to be switching up the suspension, the rear end is going to look different and our camping situation will be changing. Stay tuned!

Just got the new 4x4 Colorado Aluminum Alto Mini on the truck last week! The aluminum construction is a huge upgrade over the plastic version and has compatibility for their crossbars and other attachments through the side channels. It’s a bit more roomy inside than the old one and has some minor changes to the design. Super stoked for our road trip to Washington next week for some camping at a music festival.

Just a heads up, my discount code “MONTERABUILT” will save you $250 on any of the 4x4 Colorado tents!

Also, that droop is nice on the Kings!

Well the last few months have been busy. We had a big camping trip out to Washington for 4 nights then came back and headed straight to Overland Expo Mountain West where I met the guys at Alpharex and we actually swapped the headlights for their new Nova series in alpha black. Digging the look and I’m working on an in depth comparison between these and the Anzo. 1X8A3729.jpg 1X8A3712.jpg 1X8A3706.jpg
    1X8A3709.jpg

The next few weeks are full of exciting things for the truck. Come mid October it’s going to look much, much different. Stay tuned, she gets dropped off tonight for the first round of goodies!

Without knowing how they perform I can say that the new AREX heads are a solid upgrade in the looks department from the ANZOs

So far from what I’ve experienced, the Alpharex are much brighter with a better spread. High beams are not quite as good as the Anzo, however.

Just got the truck back from Mountain Yotas and they absolutely knocked it out of the park with my new CBI rear bumper install! Just picked it up in time to head straight back to work so I only have the one picture right now, but I’ll share more of a review when I can get out with it a bit more.
    Shop-1-2.jpg

Just a quick shoutout for Mountain Yotas in Denver, CO. If you're in the area, or even a decent drive away, they are hands down the best shop to trust with your Toyota. I'll get some pics shortly, but these bumper cuts are dead straight and significantly more appealing than rival shops I've seen. They got me in in a timely manner and finished the job on time. Everytime they do sometime on the truck I'm more and more impressed.

Hi @montera.built, when you first jumped to 37s, any rub or interference? Looks like mostly stock truck at that point…

Yep I needed to do a decent amount of fender liner trimming, some slight trimming on the actual insides of the fender and you'll need a body mount chop. Outside looking in, doesn't look like you need to do a lot but once you get in there and start cutting it's a good amount lol.
    Appreciate it!!

Hey guys, I posted a separate thread for all things Super Pacific here:https://www.tundras.com/threads/super-pacific-canopy-camper-installed.131857/ but I wanted to post the latest update on this build thread as well. Copy and pasted from the above thread:

Hey guys, just wanted to share with you all the next phase of my build, the Super Pacific canopy camper! The guys over at Mountain Yotas got this all installed and hooked up for me a couple days ago and so far I have been blown away at how nice this thing is. The sleeping loft is huge with a 20" molle panel passthrough so you can go down into your bed without disrupting the sleeping space. The canvas of the tent is made with marine grade fabric and I'm sure will keep us nice and warm and withstand any abuse we throw at it, plus it features 270 degrees of views. It comes with an Exped Mattress that is very comfortable as well.

Underneath the sleeping area is a completely modular design to really tailor your canopy to your needs and uses. So far I just have their gear loft bag that mounts to the top of the sleeping area to store your gear while sleeping but I plan to add some gear bags to the side doors and potentially some interior molle panels for more storage solutions. One of my favorite features of the Super Pacific is the removable sliding glass window on the cab side to have access to our dogs while they're in the bed and provide added airflow to keep them cool.

Speaking of accessories, I've partnered up with Super Pacific to bring you guys $200 in free accessories with my code "Montera" in the reference code section at checkout.

Definitely on the more expensive end of canopy campers, but after having my hands on one of these, it is drastically better built than other similar options on the market and 100% worth the money. Bonus, the entire thing only weighs about 370 lbs on a full size truck. Feel free to ask if you have any questions and I'll answer them to the best of my ability and provide pictures where I can. For now, enjoy the pics we've taken with it!

Well it’s been a while since I’ve posted last but we’re been doing some big changes to the truck. In November the truck went to Pureblind in Denver, CO for a full makeover. We had the truck wrapped in a one off camo designed completely by hand by Nick, the owner. The installers did a fantastic job and had it done and back to me quickly. Nick even created me a logo!

Can’t speak well enough of the team at Pureblind for helping this vision come to life and for knocking this design out of the park. Truck has been filthy with the snow here but I’ll work on getting some better pics soon!

Appreciate that a bunch man! We really wanted to keep the overall Army Green theme with the wrap so it wouldn't look out of place with the doors open and also, we just love the Army Green lol Nick and his guys just nailed it for us!
