I can comment on both of these. I run Garmin on the Tundra and Trigger on the 4runner. The Trigger I would say is the most user friendly. It comes with wire harnesses you can splice into your offroad lights and then plug in to the trigger controller. The hard buttons are nice, but the batteries die very quickly so make sure you have some spares on ya. The phone app for Trigger is not great, it's delayed and sometimes buggy. The Trigger controller itself is quite large compared to others like Garmin or Switch pros.

I'm a huge fan of the Garmin unit in the Tundra and might switch the 4runner over to it eventually too. The unit itself is built well and compact. The phone app is super quick and responsive with tons of customization features. Also Garmin has plenty of their tablets and handheld devices you can connect to the controller. Also, you can bluetooth connect multiple Garmin units on the same truck so you don't have to run wires all over the vehicle if you, for instance, want to run a Garmin in the front and rear of your vehicle. Only downside is you have to do a bit more custom work to the wiring harnesses to hook it up properly.

They're priced similarly too. I can get a 6 Trigger for around $300 tho. Thanks for the great input on the two. I only wish the Garmin wasn't solely dependent upon the app for control. By custom work to the harnesses do you mean the Garmin has no wire harness to plug into and that I'd have to run my accessory wire straight into the unit? I've wired up everything I have so far myself so I'm not opposed to electrical work.

Correct. You'll essentially have to wire your power to the garmin unit and then find a ground. I have my whole setup tied into a blue seas ground panel next to my garmin so I wire everything to those.

Cool. That's no issue. I use a negative bus bar as it is.

3" OME lift w/ UCAs. ARE overland shell w/ ARE roof rack. 34" Falken Wildpeaks. ARB awning. Road shower. Wilco Offroad Hitchgate Solo High Clearance. LED lighting upgrades. Lockerdown console safe. Weathertech floormats. Duluth deluxe rear seat cover to go under the offroad approved car seats.... :P
Great build so far. By the time I pick up a '24 on the factory 3" lift you will have all the custom fab stuff for the Colorado peeps dialed in... It'll be like a shopping list!

What pods are you using for the ditch lights? Those rectangular ones?

does the Garmin app interface works with carplay i.e. pilot my lights from my big screen unit vs the small iphone screen?
I'm assuming it has relays built in ?

Unfortunately there’s no CarPlay compatible app. But I plan on reaching out to garmin to see if that’s something they might work on. I had the same thought I think that would be such an awesome feature.

Thank you! I don't currently but I will likely throw something together on the 4runner forums!

Been waiting on a few packages and for some stuff to be built recently. In the meantime, installed these Charvonia Designs billet tie downs. Super nice quality!

Also got my RRW beadlocks mounted up on the wheels. Looks awesome and will be great for wheeling. Ran into some additional clearance issues once the beadlocks were mounted. Brought the tire out enough that I needed to have a body mount chop done and some more fender trimming. Clears lock to lock now! 62446DCB-A693-49B2-8120-DE7DCD02322F.jpg 11FFB133-CC58-4F99-9896-B06566773A6F.jpg 3E43DE15-F4B5-48B9-8EAA-B4E76987EB56.jpg

They're super nice! Couldn't be happier. And yeah the spacer lift is alright haha supposedly Fox doesn't think they'll even start working on a kit until the end of the year/beginning of 2023. I actually went with King 2.5 with adjusters and finned reservoirs... should be here in a couple months

Dang, my parts are that bullshit crappy plastic chrome that does not paint well, options are to sand it all off and paint, or wrap it.

Oh yeah I luckily had that brushed silver on mine so it took to the paint nicely.

Been a while since I’ve posted an update but added quite a few things to the truck! First, got the Carven cat back exhaust on and oh my goodness it did not disappoint. Definitely on the louder side but it sounds amazing. I’ll work on getting a sound clip up!

Next we reworked the whole suspension. King 2.5 front and rear with adjusters, switched to Total Chaos upper control arms, and Timbren rear bump stops. Should be all finished up today so I’ll post some pics and a little review once I get some miles on it!

After a quite the fiasco, finally got the front and rear King Shocks on with the Total Chaos upper control arms. Long story short, my kings were affected by a bad batch of studs and ended up needing all 8 replaced. Luckily they snapped while on a lift in a controlled environment and not on the road...

Can't speak highly enough of King though. They were very quick to respond and get this issue handled for me and took great care of me.

Truck drives sooooooo much better than stock. Before, washboard roads made it feel like the truck was going to fall apart. These just eat everything up now.

Just wondering how your MPGs are when you were 35s and 37s compared to stock?

I drive probably 70% city if not more. I average about 15.5-16 on my tanks. Prior to that I was maybe getting 2ish MPG's better on 35's.

It's slower, but this truck still has plenty of power. Especially with the JB4.

Did gouge your driveshift somewhere on the LCA or something? Maybe it's just the pic.
