I was a big Mobil 1 fan, but at about 40k miles on my 2016 CM 5.7 my motor all of a sudden started using some oil and a small cloud of oil smoke would come out of the tail pipe on start up sometimes. I did some research and found that the rings on these motors often get cooked oil on them making them stick due to the design of the piston, causing oil consumption. So I did some more research and switched to Pennzoil, which is supposed to keep the pistons 50% cleaner. I also use Chevron gas to clean. It seems to be working because the oil consumption and cloud of oil on start ups seems to be over (knock on wood). It is the same price as Mobile 1 as well at Walmart. A win win. By the way, the picture is generic and so the oil weight is wrong.

    • Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic is the first motor oil made from natural gas, not crude oil
    • Helps protect against the effects of low speed pre-ignition (LSPI) in modern turbocharged engines
    • Provides better fuel economy which helps you drive an extra 550 miles per year vs a dirty engine
    • Offers unsurpassed wear protection by keeping engine parts from coming into contact
    • Delivers outstanding piston cleanliness, keeping pistons up to 50% cleaner than required by the toughest industry standards (based on Sequence IIIH engine test results)
