Haven't done much wheeling per say with the truck yet. Just a few light trails, mud and snow. Doesn't feel any different to me.
Plan to do more this summer though as i hit the trails for camping.

Right on! I just noticed your from the bay too I'm in the east bay Antioch. Where did you go to get your wheels and tires? And that pic is a stock SR5 TRD off road. No lift just stuffed the tires in there right? I have the same truck and am worried about clearnccl issues into my garage if I put 35s on it. My garage is 6'9". Your help is much appreciated thanks in advance!

I didn't just stuff them in there. I had to cut the front bumper and pull out the fender liner. My build has everything I've done to it. https://www.tundras.com/threads/bamf-2016-crew-max-build.2607/

    I was just quoting you.

Mine is not even leveled I'm still a little low in the front and I can stuff 35's with just a little trimming and removing the front plastic.

Thanks for the tip glad it can be done with just a little triming and removing the front plastic. I just wanted to be sure because most say you need at least a level lift. Thanks again

Im running Nitto Ridge Grappler 285/75/18 on my 19 TRD PRO, they are just north of 35" tires, and they fit my stock TRD PRO level kit with minimal rubbing on the front mud flap

Did you do the 35x12.50r18? I have a TRD pro sequoia and put a 2.5 spacer lift and 35x12.50 Nitto Ridge Grapplers with my stock 18 wheels. The tires are so close to the UCA I’m considering spacers or new wheels. Did you have to do spacers? And if so 1.25” or 1.5” spacers?
@csuviper which spacers did you go with? this is my truck now while I try and figure out spacers. 2CC05BC2-C40D-45B7-AA43-FC35D3E3A980.jpg 2ED3E882-C853-4E39-93AF-A2B41D2DB29E.jpg

Yes with oem wheels you will need spacers to get it away from the Uca.

Here’s the kit you need from David. I run 295/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers and I’m happy with stock TRD wheels. Great look and ride.

Another option for 35s is 285/75/R18.

Only removed the front flaps and has a completely stock fox pro suspension in this photo. They are on the skinny side, The duratrcas I have on are spec'd at 35.1 x 11.2 but no rub, no need to trim, and plenty of space between tire and UCA.

If I want to put 20x9 wheels and 285/65/20 KO2’s on a 21 Pro, am I gonna have to do a lot of modifying to avoid rubbing?

    Thanks

Can anyone enlighten me as to how you con the tire shop (Discount Tire) into mounting true 35x12.50 on an 8” TRD Pro wheel? They say they flat will not sell them to me nor mount them. I mean, I’ve always known the minimum is an 8-1/2” wheel for a size like this, but I’ve never been told no by a tire shop. I guess I could go with a 285/75 at 34.8” or a 295/70 at 34.2”…I just really wanted them 35’s. Am I just being unreasonable and dangerous?

Toyo and Nitto both make 35x11.5 that might be a better fit on the narrower wheel. Just a thought…but can’t remember if they have them for smaller than 20” or 18” wheels, but might be worth looking into. Not sure what the metric conversion is to get to 35’s with slightly narrower tires, but that would be another option

how has this tire/ tire size done for you? Any road vibration/alignment issues? Would you buy them again?

Size and tire has worked out great. They are not highway tires but do run smooth. They have a nice AT rumble to let you know they are there but nothing like a MT tire. Would buy again.

Just put on 285/75r18 Geolandar X-AT, with stock trd pro Bilstein suspension. Tires measurements - 35.1” x 11.6”. Barely rubs front wheel well plastic at full lock in reverse.

Doesn't the collar add ~2.25"... giving you about 4" of lift now?

Nice to see a few trucks running 285/75r18 without having to remove the front mud flaps. I might have to consider that route. Trying to keep the tires tucked in and protect the paint.

I just bought a 2020 Tundra TRD Pro and looking to add 35. Reading the comments it seems like that not possible unless I modify it. What is the best/cheapest way to do this? I really don’t want to add wheel spacers since I don’t want to damage the paint from rocks kicking up. I’m a newb to this kind of stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

A "35" is nominally 34.6" tall. A 295/70r18 is 34.3" tall. A 285/75r18 is 34.8" tall. Both will fit on your stock rims just fine, and you'll have enough clearance to the UCA.

You don't need wheel spacers or a lift. You *may* need to mod the front of your wheelwell plastic... and when you get an alignment, bias towards high caster to make sure you can retain the rear mudflaps... which I'm sure you want to do to. This is easy enough and cheap/free if you do it yourself.

If you want to be sure to avoid doing anything at all, 275/70r18 (33.2") are about as big as you'd want to go. Tires in that size are cheaper also.
