I can speak from experience working on LAU-127 missile launchers while using a manual hammer driven impact tool (we tried to use an impact driver, but it kept rounding out the screws), we used government supplied bits and they would shatter after loosening 1 or 2 screws. Milwaukee fared a little better, but we went though 5 Milwaukee #3 Phillips tips (impact rated) on one launcher. We then tried a DeWalt #3 impact rated tip, and it shattered almost as fast as the Government supplied tips. We then tried the Milwaukee Impact rated #3 Phillips and these things really held up to the brutal punishment we put them through. We were able to remove all the screws in 5 LAU-127 launchers and only shattered one tip. That is my experience.
