Nice! You're gonna fill up your new Packout in no time. The ratchets are amazing. I have the m12 1/4" fuel and is probably my most used tool. That and my impact driver get used the most. I also have the Insider ratchet that doesn't get enough usage.

Who uses OneKey? I'm guessing @RainMan_PNW might? I see the benefits for large companies or even smaller companies that have a few crews to help track tools, but any real benefits aside from being able to possibly track a stolen tool for regular users? I know that some tools offer torque settings and such, which is awesome. I've not taken advantage of it on some of my tools that come OneKey, but have been thinking of dabbling...

    Packouts FTW!

I turned up my nose at Packouts when they came out; all I could think of what Kit and Kaboodles from the early 90's and Deb from Napoleon Dynamite hocking her wares on the Napolean's porch.

But then I caved and bought a bunch for the back of the truck to better organize stuff.

Then I had to buy a bedslide to access all of said pack outs.

So I paid thousands of dollars to for a more manly version of Deb's kit and kaboodle. Not sure if guys are gawking when that slide rolls out the back of the bed, or trying to stifle a laugh cuz they've made the same connection to Kit and Kaboodles.

Also, there may or may not be a boondoggle keychain or bracelet lurking in my packouts somewhere....

I would go through a tool bag in about 6 months before I found those
I had one last about 5-6 years then replaced it and retired with my last one
Field service is a hard life for a tool bag

I personally use it just to inventory my power tools and track their serial numbers.

At work, we do use it (along with several other tracking systems) but mostly for inventory management and some level of theft deterrent. We have Ticks buried inside a lot of mid-range equipment (core drills, hydrotest pumps, etc.) and we do default to buying One-Key enabled tools when that option is available (the tech is embedded in them and can’t be disabled without destroying the tool). We’ve used it to recover some significant thefts, but most stuff is onesie-twosie and not enough value for the police to get involved.

All of our big equipment is actually tracked with active cellular GPS devices.

The one key system relies on a couple things for it to actually be effective, which also becomes the achilles heel.
    1. The tool must have onekey built in or a Tick with a live battery (they last about a year before needing to be replaced)
    2. There must be a cell phone near by with the one key app installed
    3. That phone must also have permission given for one key to run in the background AND allow Bluetooth discovery AND allow outgoing notification traffic
That last one becomes an issue with iPhones because Apple’s security inherently reduces that function for any third party apps. It essentially operates the same as the Apple air tag concept but through one key/milwaukee, but since it’s third party they limit the function.

outside of that, it can be useful. But unless you want to pay the premium for one-key activated tools, there’s no real need use it as a consumer

Dude, if I kept putting shit onto a CC, I would be yelled at and wouldn’t get anything forever lol
In actuality, I’ve only spent around $300 for quite a few things the last 24 hours..that’s gonna have to hold me down for a while

About a year ago, I caved in and got myself the HD credit card and now they spam me with those 12mo no interest deals on something like $300 purchases.

They get me all the time with those :(

I keep thinking on getting a CC there, but our CC’s are so close to being paid off..may wait a bit to see if rates go down to affordable again.
