And then I went to Hone Depot to get some stain, and for no reason the 23ga. Nailer walked home with me. I now have every gauge nailer and stapler......

When my Milwaukee tools break as long as they are a year old or more I throw em away. They are used and abused. However I had one break after a few months the other day. It’ll be the first I send back to them. I hate to think there are some out there just finding tools I’ve thrown out and sending them in for fix / replacement. It’ll be the end of that perk. Kinda like how craftsman warranty died. I’ll have to start doing a better job of destroying them before they go in the dumpster.

You realize that used and abused or not, they have a warranty much longer than a year? Some of the "commercial" tools are 2 years, but many are 3- or 5-year warrantees. And my experience has been that they stand behind them even if they are used and abused.

I do. I get what I consider to be my monies worth out of them. I don’t criticize anyone who legitimately buys a tool and eventually sends it in. But I do think it’s shitty to find one in the dumpster and send it in. But I guess it’s the tool not the owner. Idk. I just hate to see a good thing get eliminated due to abuse.

I have a Milwaukee metal cutting circular saw because of their warranty. It's a $500 saw and I have next to zero need for one as a home jobber now. However, the shop I used to weld in tossed it in the trash because the bearing burnt out. They couldn't be bothered to warranty it and bought a new one, told me I could have the broken one.

I sent it in for warranty, paid $40 including shipping, and now have a fully refurbished working saw on my shelf.

totally get what you are saying. My point is - why don't you send them in for warranty instead of just tossing them?

I had a chance to tour the Milwaukee Testing and R&D lab when I was in the Midwest this past fall, and they were very proud of the fact that they do a tear down and analysis on every tool that comes back to them for warranty. They want to understand what failed and how so that they can engineer the next one not to - they had some pretty amazing examples. They offer that warranty (and stand behind it) for a reason.

I buy Darn Tough socks because they have a "Lifetime Warranty." I don't own any other brand of socks (nor does my wife). About every 3-4 years, we will wear a hole through either the ball of the foot or the heel of a pair. I'll set them aside until we have a few pair to send in, then do the warranty claim on them. It costs me the shipping price to send them back to VT and then in a week or so we get a coupon code to buy that many pair of new socks with no shipping costs. We've done it enough times at this point that we're essentially on a "rotation" with our socks that we are replacing 1-2 pairs each about every 6 months with a new pair. I don't see it as taking advantage of the system but rather letting them stand behind their promise and their product. And if they stop doing that, or their product quality starts to suffer, I can take my money somewhere else.

Our tool department will warranty anything that makes it back to them that needs to be fixed. What is sad is how much stuff out on the job sites just gets tossed rather than being sent back in to the tool department.

With all this talk about warranty, it reminded me that a buddy of mine has a fairly new Milwaukee drill that instantly stopped working after a few uses. He gave it to me to see if I can troubleshoot it. I tried a few different batteries and nothing seemed to work. I opened it up to see if maybe some wiring looked out of place or fried. It was just flat out dead.
Now my question is, since I opened it, would that void any possible warranty that it would have had? I know they place those labels over the seam to know if it's been tampered.
Also, this talk about finding Milwaukee in dumpsters, wouldn't you need to provide proof of purchase in order for them to fulfill a possible warranty?

That's the thing you don't need pop or to register them just provide serial #
Milwaukee will send you shipping info if they are willing to consider it for warranty which they almost always do

Damn, I'm gonna give this a shot and see what I can do about it. Maybe he'll give it to me since he's not much of a Milwaukee guy. Thanks!

This is one thing I do really appreciate about their tool warranty. Luckily for me, I have a local service center that can tell me if the tool is still in warranty just by checking the serial number. If the warranty just ended per the serial, they told me that if I have POP that shows the date of purchase and it's still in that period, they will push it through and Milwaukee will warranty it. The local service center used to do the majority of the repairs, submitting the claims to Milwaukee to get parts then have the labor reimbursed. After the 2020 supply chain madness, Milwaukee has sent me a new tool for most tools I've had warrantied with the exception of my pin nailers. The service center still collects a fee for handling the transaction, but they don't get paid for the repair. Either way works for me, but it is nice to simply hand a broken tool to somebody across the counter, then collect my repaired or new tool a few weeks later.

Batteries, however, are very difficult to get warrantied...

No big deals for me stuck at home over Christmas break, but did receive this from Temu or Tictok shop. Ordered in November and forgot all about it.

The construction millwright company my son works for bids on large jobs - nuclear, cement ,waste..new buildings. If they get the job, the bid covers for all tools needed, so they go acquire the tools. Have seen the inventory sheets showing pages worth of new tools bought, many Milwaukee tools, for 10 + people that will be onsite working. So the tools are paid for..
Now for what they charge the client per hour, and what these individual hand tools cost, it’s not worth the time if it takes even one hour (which it does because I did it –lol) to fill out the forms, package the tool/s needing repair, take time to bring to a courier drop off or wait for courier pick up. That hour needs to be billable to a client. Lots go to the dumpster.

Have never ordered from TEMU. Is it like AliExpress? The Canada postal strike affected alot of these Chinese firms. I bought something on AliExpress Nov 17. Guaranteed date for refund if not received was just before Christmas. Still haven't received it, probably stuck at airport but noticed they changed the guarantee date to Jan 24 2025. What r u going to do ....

So, for 4x 6Ah batteries, how much would it need to be to pull the trigger? $199?
