For a few dollars more, you can get 2 4.0ah batteries and a wall mount.

For long continuous use, yes. But I’m a big fan of the 2.5 in the right tools. It doesn’t have that huge extra bulk hanging off the end.

TX or Houston shows the same price, and it is in stock as well....

The insider was the one tool I wanted to get, along with an impact and drill, but 2 M18 and one M12, so need two sets of batteries and chargers....

When I clicked on the link it showed at $218 with not delivery. I changed stores to a local with stock and added to the cart and the price is $99, kinda weird

But I agree with @RainMan_PNW I like the 2.5ah batteries in certain tools, like the ratchet, just makes for a smaller more comfortable to use tool.

Most of the M18 chargers also have a M12 charger spot.
But it’s always nice to have two chargers anyway

HD is like that on a lot of deals sometimes.
For me, $219 seems to be the only option.

But those are not cheap, so I rather stick to one charger that has both M12 & M18.
But fact is that it is two different battery system.....
For the insider tool, I would agree the more slim line battery would make more sense as you will be trying to reach into tight space and having a big butt end would certainly be an issue later down the road.

Now, it just needs to discount from $219...... damn, it is so expensive.

Just want own for basic house projects to clean up after myself

thoughts between the two? Also why is the 1.6 more expensive when it’s smaller and runs off the M12 vs M18?

The m12 unit is hot gerbage. It’s one of the few Milwaukee tools that I very much dislike. Go for the m18 vac; even the brushed motor version is 10x better than the m12 fuel vac.

I just bought the M18 one last week. Used it once so far and it does the job it's supposed to do. Love that it's compact and ya don't have to deal with a cord.
Also, the 2gal M18 is on sale right now. Original price is $150 that makes it $10 more than the 1.6gal M12.
