I don’t run around trying to get into physical alterations because I carry a firearm, and that’s a bad idea to needlessly look for trouble with that kind of force escalation available.

I’m not terribly worried about getting punched in the mouth. You can say some pretty rude stuff to people and they’re not going to resort to violence over it.

Not sure if this is sarcasm, but I've seen it mentioned a few times in different threads, so I have to ask:
Is this something new they're doing on the 3rd gen? It's the same drivetrain, frame, basically same everything (that matters) as any other trim and it still has to tow and haul, so why would they "detune" it and make it have less output than other trims?
They never did it with any previous gens. Doesn't seem to make sense that they would do it with this one either. I can't think of a reason why they would.
Are there official specs on this from Toyota, or is this just one of those things someone made up, or is it an inside joke that I'm not hip too?

I believe my 4.6 is considered 'detuned' Lexus engine because it doesn't have direct injection that lexus counterpart comes equipped with.

Yes, it's something they're doing on the 3rd Gen. Not entirely sure why unless it's to try to force people into higher trims the same way GM does.

From a perspective behind the scenes, the 3rd gen hate is real. It makes me laugh every day, shake my head at times, and take action almost daily.

Not sure why some people think their snarky comments even matter from 99.9% of people. Unless we are fucking or you pay my bills out of the kindness of your heart...I'm only concerned with the .1% opinions in my life.

It's not so much the Gen 3 haters that are amusing, it's the butthurt Gen 3 owners that can't take a joke.
Much like the OP's experience today.
They can talk shit about the lower peon Tundra generations, but God forbid anyone give them a little ribbing about their precious fuel leak recalled Gen 3s..

See, I'm just joking, but they will respond.

Isn't that what we do here, busting balls among friends (?)..

Why the F do people who don't own a Gen 3 area bout them so much? Odd as shit. I think the #1 quantity of posts on a Gen 3 Forum are from people talking about F150's. Odd as hell. Largest # of people who post are from people that don't own Gen 3. It's like a Reddit forum.

I’m not mad at you for owning a 3rd gen, I’m disappointed in Toyota for building it.

Then go tell Toyota. It's too late for us for us 3rd genners who will just have to "suffer" and commiserate with each other! LOL.

I think a lot of the previous Gen owners were hoping that the Tundra stayed on a certain track. Toyota went down a completely different road with it and a lot of the the things that people loved about the Tundra are either completely different or gone now.
For me, it's the disappointment that if I want a few of the things that I liked about the older Tundras now, I have no choice but to go with a different brand. That's probably the worst part for me.
That said, it is what it is. No point in screaming and yelling about it for years on end, or talking shit to the people who are buying the new ones. I have a low mileage 2021. I'm happy. I'll keep it for as long as I can and if/when I ever need a new truck, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. In the meantime, IDGAF what anyone else drives or thinks.
Everyone takes themselves way too seriously and makes way too big a deal about dumb shit that doesn't matter.
