If you’re rocking solo out here I’d recommend accommodating traffic for any major cities you run through too. That 38 gallon tank is phenomenal for cross country trips though. I was always at 1/2 tank whenever the 4r and tacos were passing 1/4 tank.

Dude my fully armored 4.56 geared best gen would be at half a tank in the desert and I'd stop for gas. Not taking any chances. On the flip side, Beau's best gen would be at like 3/4 full still

I get ~250 miles to 1/4 tank. I’ve done 270-280 miles at most I think? My gas light bulb might be in backwards though haha. Idk when the gas light comes on because I never let it drop that low.

I carry 7 gal in my rotopacks... but do try to fill before I reach 1/4 tank when on road trips. 1/2 tank around home. what should I expect for weather? planning to keep it light on camping gear.

I can say you won’t even need it. You’ve got enough range between gas stations. I had empty rotopax all the way to flagstaff and Moab from DFW. If you question it fill at 1/2 tank.
    Check weather for Amarillo.

I don't know how I got behind on here. Miss one fucking notification....Anyways, here's the 14 day outlook.

    Screenshot_20240925_061232_Adblock Browser.jpg

I'd plan on mid 80s/low 50s. More than likely no rain. I'll keep posting the weather as we get closer.

We can absolutely go to the big Texan. I'd like to do so with all attendees if possible.

I'd like to get a 100% positive head count by next Thursday, 2 weeks out, that way I can book an 8+ group if need be.

Jon how is the truck coming? Will it be done by then? If not, you better bring the T3. I'll let you wheel Ironman some.

That would be a good place to start. I'm probably the least capable truck we'll have, so I wanna try that black. Toytec Boss's @3", 33" ST Maxxs, open diffs.

So I watched a video of guys doing the blue trails. I think you’ll be 100% fine on those. Black trails are questionable for some folks. I will say make damn good sure that your brakes work well. Some of those drop ins with weak brakes may make you pucker.

it's not the brakes it is the uncontrolled slides that get you.... two footed driving practice helps
