Me too. Next week I'm supposed to remind my boss I already asked for the time off.
Toy Lex has a month to get Penelope back to her old self. I'm hoping to have her back in next two weeks or so. Time will tell I guess.

Who ever does the dumbest/craziest thing or mangles something is going home with a Best Gen trophy... Not these, but like these. So who's for sure in?

No, it would need to be Tundra related to win a toy Tundra trophy. We could call it the Mangler Award, or the Bestest Gen Award.

Well, it's been 100+ for the last few Fridays. It rained Friday before last then was up to 100 again this Friday. It's going to rain again this weekend. At this point I think Jesus is fucking with us.

That dude in the ford probably went Friday the week before last. There's a reason I won't go down there if there's any rain at all. That's all red dirt, clay, and caliche.

The part bolted to the frame, sure.
The pin holding the part with the ball, sure. Stick a tow strap in the receiver and put the pin thru the strap.

The part with ball itself? NO!
Dangerous to yank on the ball and no point in having that bit hang off the rear and drag and get hung up if you're offroading.

My boss and a couple guys from work planned a trip to merus the same weekend. Jeep guys. They can keep us company if we want. I figured we'd do blues and blacks. They're not gonna go on blacks.

Even better if they know the park and have decent recovery gear. Probably wouldn't hurt to have em around some and we can always split up.
My biggest regret (aside from wrecking my diffs) is that I haven't gotten around to buying/installing a winch (or 35's).

How about doing that to a truck that can fit between the lines?

I just realized thats a hitch mounted tire carrier. How much slop & rattle is there in that setup?

the one i took to D2M needed some shim, but was loose by the time i made it to flagstaff.

I have a u-bolt and plate that keeps it snug in the Hitch. The swing arm has a little shake but not really noticeable.

Had that carrier at the April 23 T2S. Also ran GFF with it mounted

Having a terrible time trying to acquire a new steering rack. Ordered from Sparks Toyota in early August (advised it will be back in stock beg of Sept). Recent email notification that they are still not in stock and have no idea when they will be. I need this before the trip, I've perused the forum and there seems to be hit or miss info on non OEM racks. Anyone have a suggestion? Their correspondence is gawdawful to boot.

Your profile doesn't have any pertinent info about your truck to help you, but first gens run the Detroit axle racks with good luck.

When it's installed, I run two clamps on it that eliminate the slop.

I've been meaning to get one of these to wedge inside the receiver. My motorcycle carrier has this sort of thing and it works very well.

When I scored my dad an OEM hitch from his Tacoma, the hitch was stuck in the receiver. PO had wedged some plastic on there and it took me some time with a 8lb sledge to get it out.

That's what I'm running. It's been beat on on 2 trips to AZ and hasn't shown any signs of stopping.
