That’s one of those I say get handled prior to the trip. Respectfully so, I think @JakeJake is preferring to allocate any shop time to people who break on trail, have issues arise or broke on the way there, or just want a very quick nut/bolt check prior to hitting dirt. If everyone showed up with a “30 minute quick thing” it’d never fail to take longer than what you’d expect and we all would wind up never making to merus haha.

Thats what happened to panhandlemonium, we were supposed to go check merus out, but everything took a little longer than expected, we did my tailgate & an extra set of leafsprings, and everyone ran out of time. I had an extra day, so i drove through palo duro state park on my way home.

So Jeboost at Teq said he had 28 trucks on his lot when I called Wednesday. He said to reach out again next week. I have a bad feeling he won't get to me in time for Merus. So tomorrow I'm going to call Toy Lex in Kemah. It's it's 15 mins closer each way and I can go slow on the way there if need be.

I am all about it! Maybe we can link up with @455h0le_dachshund and knock some more shit out. I do have shade from 0600 to about 1300. The garage might also be a decent spot. I also have a slop in the drive way, something I will never do again on my next house purchase.

EDIT: Do I need a pinch weld adapter to the floor jack?

If I can get my truck ready to go to Merus by or before October, I could try to come out your way.
A pinch weld adapter would be cool. Might make. It easier to lift my body around my sliders than my idea... Lumber. I'm off Mondays-Wednesdays for now.

I used a pinch weld rubber disk on top of my floor jack to jack up the body but I’ve been told by others it’s not necessary. I think some people just used a couple inches of cardboard to not damage it. Others have used 4”x4” post on an open spot underneath the cab.

When I worked at a dealership oil rack, we would lift cars by their pinch welds with our 2 post lifts. That was standard procedure.
Trucks got lifted by their frames though.

Doubtful, you'd just be lifting the body off the frame to replace the body mounts or to install the body lift.
The pinch weld is pretty dang strong.

Good to know, also and maybe I should do more research, did you replace all the parts or just the bushing? Is it necessary to replace the washer, fasteners, bolts and the like? Did you go OEM?

I'd peek under and check the condition of the hardware. If you're unsure it might be worth the little bit of extra work to pull one out in advance to check so you know what you're up against. I replaced my diff drop recently and noticed it was in rough shape, but it wasn't anything you couldn't strip off the surface rust and reuse.

I replaced all the parts however some could be potentially reused like the main bolt.
