    Hi everyone,

I have been looking at exhaust for my truck. Have an eye in the MBRP dual kit with the exit to the sides.

Does anyone have this system in their truck? Would like some feed back. The manufacture says that the system will have no drone and isn’t to excessive with the volume of the system in the cab.
Look forward to hearing your thoughts!

I don't have MBRP on my current truck but did have one of their cat back systems on my Tacoma. I also looked at them for this truck, found a few videos online that I thought sounded good. I will say the likelihood of not alot of interior drone is pretty slim. But that is very subjective to begin with.. What some would consider loud others wouldn't . Alot of guys with Tundras swear by Dirty Deeds Industry. They offer several muffler sizes an also sell resonators to really cut down the drone.. You won't find that on a big name system.. I am currently running Gibson (Metal mulisha) an the drone was noticable at first but after a while i got used to it an I don't think about it.. Granted I am the type that won't own a vehicle with a stock exhaust.

I believe @BlueBottle used to have an MBRP exhaust on his truck and he said the Drone was terrible.

Hi Makoy 339, do you know if he had the dual or single setup?

    Hi jonders 2586,

I have heard of the BA form dirty deeds. I live in Canada and looked at one last year. With the exchange rate plus shipping and initial cost, it was gonna run me more than getting the TRD form Toyota.

ya I had the single and I didn’t like the drone. Was unbearable. Can’t say much about the dual if it’s better or not. Went to DIRTYDEEDS and haven’t looked back ever since. MBRP is cheap for a reason.

My mechanic has an MBRP system on his Chevy Silverado. The drone is not that bad, but MBRP is telling me that on the Tundra it is a true dual and not like the Chevy that is single in and dual out. They told me the Chevy will be louder and have more drone. I hope they are right, the system is only running $800 Canadian for stainless with the life time warranty.

Thanks for letting me know. MBRP has told me that the true dual will be less loud and no drone because each bank stays separate. From what I have read in other forums it sounds to be correct. I am just open to options before I commit to something and hoped that someone somewhere may have a sound clip while driving with the dual system for me to hear.

I have heard good thing about them too. Have also heard good things about Borla as well. And Carven is another, but I think it may be a bit too loud for what I need. Often leave for work at 4am and don’t want to wake up the block doing it. Lol

Right now I have a Solo Performance Mach 44 muffler. Did the cut out and weld in thing a couple of years back. Now I have an exhaust leak at the flanges and behind the muffler where the clamp for the tailpipe is. the local custom shop wants $500 to fix it all and bend some new pipes as the want to cut out the flanges and joints. Like the muffler, but they don’t have a dual option aside form building a y-pile after the muffler. Not sure if I like the sounds of that??

My co worker has a Tundra TRD pro with TRD dual exhaust. He swapped it out with a MBRP, and seems to like it. The trd exhaust was too quiet for him, the mbrp is louder.

No, he keeping it just in case need to put back on bc his wife doesn't like the mbrp. But I can ask him again.

Just fyi...the TRD dual exhaust from newer years does not fit 2007-2009 models. They fit 2010+ up. The 07-09 mid pipe on driver side is slightly different.
But I do have an exhaust system from my 2008 that I am selling bc I'm selling my truck.

I had MBRP on my last truck, twice. Rotted out quickly, replaced under warranty, then rotted out again. It was a single system and droned like hell. So much so I was apprehensive about buying my truck that had the TRD exhaust on it.

If they salt/brine your roads, buy a system with the highest grade stainless you can get.

I had a MBRP on mine until recently. Droned really bad. Back to stock now.
