My first thought was... that's just fu^&n' stupid! But, then I was touched by inspiration and thought, 'wait... I can solve this'...

That makes it a grilled ham sandwich with cheese.

I don’t think you understand the definition of funny.

We’re talking current funny, not that old, ancient funny that can’t be found any longer, because it wasn’t funny.
Funny is just made differently these days.

I tried to make a grilled cheese using mayo, honestly not impressed.

Butter going forward for me.

Feel free to elaborate on methodologies.
It’s hard to mess up a Mayo grilling.
Burns much less quickly than butter and leaves it more crispy.

The crisping part wasn’t at issue, my “problem” was the residual flavor of mayo. This could be down to a technique issue, perhaps too much was used?

I’ll have to run my test again. I tried in a non stick pan, but typically cook almost exclusively on cast iron.

Need to run it again on a nice pre-heated cast iron.
