Bryce is really cool, but it's small. Nearly everything worth seeing can be scene from the top of the canyon within 100 yards of the parking lot. The hikes are nice and easy, but I wouldn't say you miss out on anything if you decide to skip them. I'd plan on spending an hour there and spend the rest of the day in Zion, which is just down the road to the south.

At Zion, hike the Narrows and Angel's Landing. They are the two coolest hikes that I've ever taken. You can spend 2-4 days at Zion easily.

Arches is cool too. Several fun hikes. See Delicate Arch and Landscape Arch. Dead Horse Point is near Arches, but not within the Park. It's supposed to have one of the best sunsets in the US.

Get an annual national parks pass and you'll save some money if you only visit 3 parks in a year. The pass covers entry fees for everyone in 2 vehicles.

Yep. My annual cost is $20 but I'm old.

Both are great. Main difference is Byrce is higher on the Colorado plateau. Arches is much lower, right on the river so it’s a lot warmer late September. I’d head towards Arches, Moab & Canyonlands.

Stars bro. Don't miss the stars. Find the darkest spot you can and lay out gazing at the milky way. Awesomeness.

Do a little research before hitting this. There is a ranger station in town not far from this that you'll need to check in with to see if the road is accessible. Rains can shut it down. If it's open, the hike is a dead flat, and super easy hike about 1-2 miles long. If the road is open, it is definitely worth the trip. It's about 20 minutes from Bryce if I remember correctly. I think the road in is about 5-7 miles of INTERESTING and somewhat challenging road. Easily doable in a stock 4x4.

I camped with no tent in Zion once and woke up in the middle of the night to discover more stars in the sky than I've ever seen in my life. It was amazing.

Very similar experience camping in Moab near Arches.

Makes a big difference if you can hit a nearly moonless night.
