Percentage wise Doge is the highest earner I've go right now. Currently sitting at 200+% and was around 300 in the middle of the night. Too bad the initial I threw in was $20 lol. IF I hit $100 in profit I'll probably bail and wait for it to drop next month.

Did anyone notice this question on the 2020 form 1040? It's kind of like a poll. "Is there enough interest in cryptocurrency for us to tax the transactions?"

I'm mostly up but I'm in low beta holdings only real risk is PTY and although not as diversified as I should be, am still in favorable territory. Was hoping the Dow would have kept it's gains and extended into Fridays close but with earnings coming out that was a fantasy. That's how this stuff works. No biggie.

Side note. I submitted a request for a financial section for us. This kind of interest is hard to ignore...no pun intended

Smart...and I do. Only cut the losers and I scrutinize before I buy. Too old to take risks I can't claw back. I wait and buy in 100 share clumps when something drops....rake up the bodies and pick the corpse clean...rinse and repeat. I check the ratios, volume, beta, yield, costs, etc. Good stuff. Who needs vegas?

    Update:

Couldn't take it no more. Sold the DogeCoin - I mean, hey, I made $700. :D

I'm not entirely sure I'll ever go 'big' on any crypto, though. I'll likely use the same $700 and let it sit around until I see another Dogecoin opportunity or something, but other than that, I'll likely stay investing with more classic stocks and the like. (At least, that's how I feel now - I may feel differently once I'm more educated on crypto/stocks.)

I bought $25 worth just for s’s and g’s yesterday afternoon. I’m still laughing at it and poking it with a stick hoping it does what it did when I was alseep last night once more. Right now it’s acting like one of those feinting goats.

Cardano (ADA) has good real world applications currently being used by some banking institutions and being researched by others. I'm heavy in that currently but have been for quite some time.

I had a buddy who went all in with $10k worth of shares of an LNG company that was in negotiations for a joint venture to build a facility down here. They are the only company to have failed to do so as similar facilities are popping up around here like bad acne on a teenagers face. Luck of the draw I guess.

Actually, it sounds like a trap. If they find out in the future that you made money on cryptos, but answered no to this question, you just got caught lying to the IRS. Then you will be in a world of hurt even if that is the only mistake you ever made!

Hey guys, been a lurker on here. I am nowhere near the level of knowledge most of you possess but I am interested in taking a baby step into this world. I noticed on my PayPal app it lets you purchase crypto now. That sparked an interest in me to look into trying this out. I don't have the money to throw thousands on a stock, but what if I tried buying one stock of Litecoin to start off. It's hovering around the $140-$150 range. I could persuade the wife easily for that.

What do y'all recommend here? Should I go for a different app like Coin Base or Robinhood or Spark? I need to keep this simple for me, I'm stupid when it comes to this stuff but I do not want to miss out on an investment that I'll regret not making years from now.

Some of the posts on r/wsb are crazy!

    Heard hedge funds lost $70B.

Back of my mind, i'm a little worried about a large crash, i think back to 2007 and what caused it...and looking at what is happening now, hopefully this sends a shockwave, but not a nuke.

Nuke it. Stock market is overinflated. Stock shortages with inflated prices. It needs a correction. Position your money appropriately, protect your egg, buy in when it explodes.

First, with cryptos, you don't have to buy a full coin. You can just as easily by $100 worth of BTC as you can $100 worth of LTC or $100 worth of DOGE. It's not like stocks that are more difficult to break up into pieces.

The simple interfaces that I would recommend are Coinbase, Blockfi.com, Cash app, or Gemini. If you open a Blockfi account, please use this link: https://blockfi.com/?ref=c185666a There is a referral credit for me if you do - TIA!

DEFINITELY! That's where a lot of my profits came from in 2020. Currently I am in Editas (EDIT - up 142% since March 2020), Precision Biosciences (DTIL - up 97% since October 2020), and several others. I sold some late in December for up to 200% profits. Biotech, AI, and 5G are the sectors set to explode over the next 10 years, and several new companies are already doing very well.

Dogecoin went to $800 yesterday

I must have missed that.... I thought I saw it hit $0.40 for a second then dive into the abyss and come back to $0.07. Whoever bought it at $0.002 and sold at $.40 made a lot of Money last night.

It went up to .08ish last night that was the highest I saw.

I actually did buy some at .002, then some more at .004 for what I'm holding the average cost is somewhere around .016

LOL sorry. I meant that the amount I had went from like $50 to $800 or so.

If Dogecoin went to $800 yesterday, I'd be closing accounts everwhere, going into hiding, etc. because I'd be freaking rich as can be. LOL
