Maple syrup

Thanks guys. I really was nervous about the glass. It took a while but as long as it made it safely in happy to take the time. I have a few boxes of peanuts and styrafoam sheets here from boxes I had shipped to me so it's all free and works great

Just got home from a double shift, the ER was busy as hell today. PM's replied to. I won't run out any time soon guys so don't worry. I just need to get some more plastic quarts finished up this weekend and we're back in business. Thanks again everyone

 

Ok so I do have to say this syrup is awesome!!!!! I am gonna have to buy more pancake mix which will lead to needing more syrup and the cycle of life continues. Lol

 

Save yourself some dough and make pancakes from scratch. Very simple recipes you can find on the internets. Don't waste your money on store bought mix.

 

Decided to try something different. We used this bread to make french toast with. dipped and cooked like normal, just different bread. We usually use Hawaiian sweet bread. OH DAMN it was good with Pudge's syrup. And syrup drenched bacon was like sweet heaven.

 

Got 15 more gallons filtered and bottled today. 15 more to go maybe this weekend. I did a bunch of plastic quarts today. Need to clean and label them. Possibly can ship Friday.

 

Hey everyone. My daughter was sick today and home from school, so I didn't get to do any packing or shipping. I have everyone's syrup. I just need an hour or 2 to get it packed. I may have time this weekend. If not it will be Tuesday. Sorry for the delay.

 

No worries Sean. Sorry to hear she's sick and hope she gets better soon. I never liked it when my kiddos were sick. I usually ended up getting whatever they had a few days later. I hated that!

 

Hope she gets better. My oldest has a fever too. Change in seasons are a killer.

She's doing great today thanks guys. We had opening day of tee ball today, 46° and light rain. It was awesome haha.

Gonna need a bigger box. I may use 2 flat rates or see if I can do it cheaper in just one big box

 

I think I can use a box that the bottles were shipped to me in. And just be a little extra careful. I'll add some pea it's so nothing can really shift around. What do you think ?

Hi Sean... I dont mind paying more for shipping to have them better protected. As long as it is all insured if some show up broken it is covered. But i would rather pay more for better packing and more boxes than even have to deal with making a claim for some broken bottles. I just know sometimes they really throw around the heavier packages. I will leave it to your best judgement and just wait to get a bill from you. I really appreciate it.

Just finished the last 15 gallons of syrup. Everything is now in bottles and ready to go after I label it all tomorrow

 

Today's batch. A lot of 8 and 12 oz bottles. A few dozen leaf bottles. And a dozen or so quarts to add to the quarts I did last week

 

I have a lot of syrup left guys. I could run out if certain sizes but I expect to have some around through Christmas.

 

Haha yes sir. It's a lot of syrup. It hard to decide how much of each to bottle up. I'm keeping track so we'll be able to adjust each year

 

Plastic jugs are indeed 32 oz of delicious liquid gold

 

The glass does look so good. Tastes better too after it sits for a while IMO. The plastic is a better value though. But there's something about those glass bottles that make me happy. Of course im biased, but the color and clarity of that syrup in the glass shows off all my hard work.

 

It really can be addicting. Imagine sitting there for hours a day scooping up every little drip with your finger....thats me haha

 

The plastic has more syrup, better value. I use the quarts at my house and use glass as gifts. I go through about a quart or 2 a year

 

When it's evaporating you need to check the specific gravity with a hydrometer, you fill a stainless cup with syrup and then test and empty it. The syrup drips down the side. I leave it, let it sit next to the fire, it hardens into maple candy. Peel it off , or chip it into little flakes. Amazing

 

There was a out 2 oz left today in the bottler....i tipped the pan once it was cool enough. Opened the valve right into my mouth, then my daughters. Quality control obviously
