I'd love to get a steam hood preheater. I really have no preheater at all and I'm sure u could to many more GPH if I had something. If i really push mine i think I get about 35 gallons per hour out of it, but probably average 25-30, I bet you get 50 with Yours? that extra 6 inches wide would make a huge difference too. Probably 2 more flues in the back pan that's a huge surface area increase. Yours is beautiful Adam. They are out of my budget right now but maybe some day. We do all our buckets by hand too. I can't imagine doing 400+ that's a lot of work. I have all I can handle doing about 150, but I'm almost always by myself.

Rated for 1500 taps...but we'll never push it to that limit, i don't think...

We've done up to 35gph but could do 50 if we pushed it...
Yeah the 400 + was too much. Somedays there's lots of help...some days Dad was up there by himself... it's too much unless there's 3-4 people at least.
We're on a big side hill, so it's ideal for pipeline and holding tanks but Dad wants to stay old school and it's still his call ...for now...hehe

I tried to run gravity tubing on about 40 taps one year and it was an epic fail. Slope was t enough and lines sagged enough to be a pain in the ass. We have to collect in a truck tank from 4 different properties (only have 7 taps on same property as sugar house) so it takes forever. I have one person's house where I tap that there are 60 taps which is nice. I wish I had a big sugarbush where I could run lines on a vacuum pump.

Did about 14 gallons today. It's looking good. This batch came out a little darker in color compared to yesterday, likely due to a warm spell we had during the time the sap was cooked. I love the flavor of the darker syrup compared to the lighter stuff.
Got everything labeled up and graded as well, but realized the labels with our names and email that go on the back, were either misprinted or was a typo on my end...Will get new ones ordered Monday and then stick them on and start selling and shipping. What i have in stock which is plastic quarts, glass 16.9oz and glass leaf 3.5oz. Hope to get 8 and 12 oz glass bottles done next weekend.

I'm not happy about the labels. It's my own fault. Didn't look at them til today but oh well. I really want my name, town, state and email on the bottle in case anyone wants more. It'll be nice to have a little info out there, even though we are such a small operation.

Seems that I can fit whatever I need in a medium flat rate box which is 13.60
And for big orders I'll use a big box which is 18.85
