Apologies if this has been covered as I tried to search for it. Is there any harm in leaving the truck in the manual shift in 6th gear on the highway while leaving the cruise on? If I don't it is constantly shifting on what seems like any grade. Keeps the RPM's down as well.

Not harmful that I know of.
The truck will still downshift if it needs to, that "S" mode is really more of you telling the truck the highest gear it can go to.
